Hello, new member here. So I’ve finally replaced my air filter for the first time as I used to have the filters replaced when I went to quick lube oil changes. I have since begun doing my own oil changes. Anyway, I didn’t bother to see how the old filter was installed prior to replacing it. After I’ve installed a new Toyota OEM filter, I’ve noticed a gap on the side of the box with the side of the filter visible. I recall the old filter being an aftermarket one with the rubber gasket on the sides. The Toyota OEM ones have the fuzzy looking sides. Can someone with a 2g tC compare, please? Not sure if this is normal. I’ve ensured the two plastic hooks on the back align and insert into place and the two metal clips in front clip securely. I’ve even tried pressing the two halves together but they won’t go any further. The gap still remains. Is this normal?
If someone with a 2g tC running on an OEM air filter setup can compare, that would be great! Thanks!
