do you remember who? can you link please.
not that i am too serious about this now. i have to figure out wheels before changing anything big.

Also my weighted shift **** arrived today! I'll post a pic tomorrow when it's light out.
It weighs more than stock and was only $12.00 Must be so cheap because it is made in china (no stamp lol but i saw Chinese on packaging). It's somewhat smaller than the stock **** but it does help shifting a lot! I am keeping it until i can find a nicer looking one. I also have to weigh it on Friday when i go to work. I'll let you guys know.

cool so it's made in japan. it feels like a decent quality product. attached are some pics.
the color matches the outside of my car but not the interior trim. eh i dont really care, looks ok.
what i dont like about it is that it doesnt cover up the reverse lockout machinery very well but with that adapter there it all kind of blends in together and you do not notice it much.

Overall i like the shifter. it does get cold and probably hot like the PJDM brass shifter.
I'll find out weight tomorrow on a scale.
Opinions on shift ****? doesn't look good?

Today was warm so i took the exhaust bolts off, flipped the gasket for hopefully a better seal and torqued the bolts to spec. so far no leak heard but I'll have to wait for a rainy day - when the exhaust flanges will hiss if there is a leak.

or most likely plasti dip them aluminum color to hopefully look like OEM alloy wheel color.

What are opinions on the following tire choice for 18x9 wheel?
255/35R18
possibly Falken tire.

my car will not be very low, about TRD spring height (1" drop)
would making the tires thicker - 255/40R18 help fill wheel gap or it isn't necessary?

Since youv are still on factory diameter wheels you should stick with factory profile tires. Stick with 45 profile. There is no need to go any lower than that especially since you are only going to be on TRDs. Even if you were on Eibach Sportline like me you would still be OK on 45.

thanks!
I really like those wheels. i think they will look very nice on the tC2

and those tires are for the new rims, not for stock rims, sorry should have clarified.
would 255/45R18 be too fat? i dont want that to put me too high off the ground because the tires are fat, but at the same time if it helps some wheel gap...

Yeah that's what I was talking about. Since you are still riding on factory diameter (18") wheels, you can stick with factory profile wheels (45). So you would end up with 255/45/18.

You know now that you mention it... The 255/45 tires might be fatter than the factory 225/45 wheels.

yeah i am not too clear on how thickness works, but if i go with 255 width, and then 45 thickness that thickness is something like 45% of the width or similar. so that's fatter than 45% of stock 225 width...

this is where it gets complicated for me. I'd like wider tires to cope with the much wider rims over stock width. but idk how thick or wide to go. And then there is the chance of messing up the speedometer too bad on speed error due to the tire i use.

wish i could just copy someone with 18x9 rims lol. i have been searching. i know i have seen very few but I forgot what they were running. plus they usually don't tell about tire info, just rims

there's way more cons than pros and a whole debate that's too extensive to get into...

but in a nutshell...what is the purpose of PlastiDip? its a sealant to protect/patch up leaks. It's not paint. It's like using dish washing soap instead of car wash soap, it looks like car wash soap, it might smell like car wash soap, it might appear to work like car wash soap....but use it and you will ruin your paint.

If you want to paint something, use paint or vinyl wrap cause that's what its for.
