No problem. The lady at the parts department said that the original OEM part number has been replaced with that one listed above. I put the original number because thats what I found on the install instructions on the trdsparks website.

Not sure what your dealership might have it listed as,
90917-06045 or C0256-00214

I had some time today, and the weather was good to me, to try and see what was left of my gasket. couldn't even break the bolts on the axleback LOL
especially the bottom bolt is totally rusted on there. used WD-40 to no avail.

will try again tomorrow. I was using a 3/8" drive ratchet with extension. i do have a breaker bar and would have used it if i didn't lose my 3/8" to 1/2" adaptor when i was installing my sway bars.

I wish i had a 14mm socket in 1/2" drive size but all i have are 3/8" sockets.

Good luck buddy! I'm the opposite...all I have are 1/2" sockets lol.

Its always a good idea to have a can of PB around. That stuff doesn't play around when it comes to breaking a rusted bolt.

after a few tries this morning the bolts gave and i was able to replace the axleback. the rubber hangers gave me no trouble - I just used WD-40 on them. i salvaged my old gasket (I can see how people might miss it as it looks like it's welded onto the stock axleback exhaust). a little WD-40 and a tiny screwdriver pried it off w/o damaging it. it looks like its made of some flimsy metal or rock or w/e so i didn't want to damage it.
Overall install was easy. I'll report results after i go on my usual school commute and back. Will be mostly looking for a change in noise pitch.

Yes I agree. Sounds very solid even w/o a dezod header. I'm happy with the way my car sounds now so i can probably skip on the CAI and header mods. i'd be able to save some money for the other stuff I want to get

I finally have a mod on my car

CAI doesn't add sound anyway so you are good man. Glad you like it and congrats on your first mod! Header makes a pretty noticeable difference. Slightly more than I was hoping for.

if it wasn't so expensive I'd get one. but my idea for header price will probably get me a rusted chunk of aluminum instead of an actual header

I'm trying to find the cheapest weighted shift **** i can online. i won't have the funds to buy it for a while but I might as well start researching now haha.

Looked at this one, but idk how heavy it is: http://www.brandsport.com/toy-pts22-...FTJo7AodIDQAHw

EDIT: apparently that one doesn't even fit the tC2, only the tC1 because of the reverse lockout lever. I found a cheap TRD shift **** online and will try that one out. It has type R shape and is supposed to be weighted. has no specs. I'll provide specs for it once i get it (weight).

Ok, so the stock shift **** weighs at only slightly over 68 grams.
I'm guessing the one i ordered HAS to be heavier because it is made from billet aluminum. stock looks like plastic. Will update when i get it sometime next week. it was shipped.

Quick question:
does the 2012 scion tC have only one reverse light lighting up when putting the car in reverse gear? or do both sides light up as with most other cars?

I just don't want to go to the dealer to have them tell me it's like that from factory.

I have been eying Tein H tech springs. i do not like how low S techs are plus i have been reading that with S techs the stock tires make the ride quality terrible. also looked at the Eibach Sportline springs and people say they lower a lot and are best quality out there. sounds like lower or same as S Techs so i don't want to go there unfortunately. I know you like low haha!

I really like what MightyP did on his tC: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=199425
I think it looks very solid for not being on S Techs:

Overall i do want to lower, but just don't have the money to do it lol.
Next mod will probably be 5000K HIDs.

Still waiting on my shift ****

I would always go with Tein in the Scion World. They specialize in our type of cars. Eibach is "eh". You'll be happy with H-Techs. I would be proud if you took the plunge. You'll never turn back, and will probably pick up a set of S-Techs after only a short while because you'll get the "fever"!! Haha. I know you do a lot of your own work on your car, but if you didn't plan to install your springs, just figure that they will be $400 to install, plus springs are cheap. So you're only looking at about $600-$650 for the whole thing to be sitting lower. That's not bad. Save up!

And don't go rippin' 1st to 2nd now that you have your weighted ****, these transmissions aren't made for that! But it will make the throw a lot nicer for sure, nice slow and smooth baby. You will like it a lot, it's a great upgrade, just as long as you don't think it makes your transmission built with PPG's!

Believe me man I will save up big for the springs haha! I do want to do them myself but i'll need to find someone who has done springs before to guide me through it. as a last resort i will go to a shop to have them installed (but shops aren't very trustworthy as far as they go because they don't give any warranty on installation so they can just screw it up, what do they care?) That may be just shops in my area though.
H Techs sound like the right kind for me :D

Thanks for all the tips!

Also am I wrong in thinking that we can replace our S-pipe w/o deleting the second cat? according to this diagram, second cat is part of resonator, but it bolts with a flange to the S-pipe, which then bolts with a flange to the header and first cat complex.

It's not like I'll be replacing my S-pipe though. it's prob going to cost $200+ for a good one, and i only see benefit when i have a header installed too along with air intake (or the highest benefit of the larger S-pipe would be from a flat-out turbo build) neither of which are set to happen to this car atm lol.
But I can dream.
