Hmmm so it does not fit an 06 bumper? or does not fit your 06-with the 05 bumper on it?

There is nothing you can do about it coming up short since it wraps around the back side of the bumper, that is precisely why i'm ordering the jdm front bumper/reinforcement. it shouldn't cost too terribly much to do it, the parts will run about 250 here in the US.

What do you mean? you are saying it does not matter what bumper we have it will "not" fit??

I am not spending another $500 freaken bucks for shipping and painting and installing and so on. Might as well cancel the order and take the 30% restocking fee if that is the case. I can buy an entire kit for under the price of the end result of just this front lip if that is what you are saying.

That is correct, but this is a lip that NO ONE has in the US, well besides me. I knew there was a good chance it would not fit prior to ordering it b/c myautofashion said it wouldn't.

It probably wasn't the smartest thing to do to order something that hasn't been tested on cars in the US if you weren't able to pay for additional modding. This is a hobby and no one should spread themselves so thin as to not afford things. As for time on being delivered, this was nothing compaired to my Trial exhaust. That part was and still is super rare, it took me 8 months for that to come in, but when it did, i was one of maybe ten in the whole US to have that exhaust.

I would agree with you all but for the fact that it's simply not honest to sell it without "warnings". Bottom line is the part to buy should be available in some way to the buyer of the lip.

Interestingly enough no one ever gets a 100% answer on this front lip. Why? cause I t does not how unfortunate we have to be lab rats. We are told things like "I have sold many to people in the US."

The aftermarket world is full of this BS. I really wanted to believe the OEM JDM would be different. I am willing to put money into modding but I want to be told the freaken blunt , yes or no truth about what I am buying so I can budget.

A bit of a rant I guess but in a few days I will forget it and move on to the next obsession

PS: do you have a link to the parts you are referring too? and you did not answer my question about the 05/06 bumper. Does it not fit either??

the 06 bumper is completely different shape as per the bottom, the 05 has the same shape, but it protrudes forward about 2.5 inches to far. I had originally thought maybe i could mold it in, but the front curvature is a little off due to the length it projects forward. If I were to cut and mold the lip to the bumper, there would be gaps to the left and right about a foot left/right of center respectively. I will try to get pics on monday, at the latest to show what I mean. It is a gorgeous peice though, and the sport grill is excellent too, makes me wish that all aftermarket parts were manufactured to such specs. The paint on the parts looks to be pretty thick, but I will probably repaint it at my shop just so I can add more flex additive and additional coats to thwart off chipping since these peices will be up front.

Man... after seeing that grille on your car, it makes me want one.

Shame it won't fit the '06 without modification.

The car is a 2006, i bought the 2005 bumper thinking the version b lip would fit it since the year models have the same design as the 2005 IST. my mistake was the reinforcement caused the bumper to protrude too far forward. I will correct this by purchasing the JDM bumper and reinforcement, which will make the lip fit the curvature of the bumper better.

The small lip you are noticing is found on every 2005 xA, since I had to paint the bumper when I bought it to replace the bumper that was destroyed by the dog, I went ahead and painted the whole thing.

from what i could see of my grill (2006) now working with the 2005 bumper, it appears that the lines where the bumper/grill meet are off, so if you want to upgrade to the sport grill, you will have to trim some off the bottom to get it to fit right, any good body shop can make this happen and it will look great. there is a black peice covering a clip hole you will need to remove to do so though, took me about 20 minutes to figure out how it comes out.

Good luck James...That sport grille looks great on the white, unfortunately, everyone around here has either that grille or the stock....I'm still holding out for the Kenstyle.

I would say that it won't fit due to distinct differences in the styling of the bumper, but I could be wrong.

Dude, pick up the Syphon Magazine in stores right now... They have a whole article on JDM buying...it basically says that it'll be a month easy if they have the part in stock...if not, they'll have to make it (shorter add'l wait) or source it out to another company (longer add'l wait) Also Syphon Mag is all about micro cars..Fit xB xA Yaris3dr
