06 Scion xA Did it have Standard Keyless Entry??
I am a new to me Scion owner. I bought a 2006 xA used and it didn't have any stock keys or key fobs with it. The dealer didn't know if it had come with keyless entry and the previous owner just lost the key fobs or what. I called a Scion dealer and they are giving me different answers. This car has power locks and when you put the key in the door and turn it all the locks in the car unlock. I even called the Scion manufacturer and first they tell me as long as my car has power locks, I can just by a replacement remote and it will work with the car after programming. I call the dealer and they said no that won't work. Neither of the places are able to tell me if this car had a keyless entry standard on it, even after giving them the VIN. I looked on Edmuds.com and it is saying that this model and year Did come standard with a keyless entry. I am getting frustrated, I don't want to shell out the money for a remote if it wont work. The dealer wants to charge me $65 to hook up something to the car to see if it has a keyless entry thing.
Does anyone know? This car didn't have a chip in the key either, just a regular copied key.
Thank u so much n advance.

Was not standard. After they installed it on my car, there is an additional red light below the steering wheel on the left side (underneath the place you adjust the interior light level), and I think it says "Scion security" or something like that. It comes on when you lock the door with the fob. Maybe you could look for this LED...

Keyless Entry problem on the 2006 Scion xA..
I bought my Scion xA 06 model 3.0 series 2 years ago and I have always wanted to put a keyless entry on it. Yes, my car has Scion Security and I called the dealer and they said that my car did have the feature so I went ahead and bought a new remote from amazon that costed me around $140. (Do not do this!). So I followed the instructions that came with the remote to program it, even went to the dealership and they could not install the remote to the car. I am concerned about this but they said the car does take the remotes signal but the remote cannot communicate to the car (Whatever that means). So before you spend your money, go to the dealership and ask. They sell used ones for like 25 bucks to you and the installation is free. There are some people out there that say they charge you a lot of money for this, yes and no... This is because if your car already has the system installed then you can buy a used one from them (Not online purchased) for 25-50 bucks and they will install it free. Or buy a completely new system of Scion Security for $200+ dollars. But if you buy one online you're risking it. However the xA is not universal so you need to go to the dealership for the remote or ask the dealership for the type of remote and you can look it up online.

Hello?
@elocs OMG! You do? What is the FCC ID at the back of those remotes? Is it the FCC ID: BAB237131-056 or the FCC ID: HYQ12BBX? The one I bought from Amazon was the FCC ID: HYQ12BBX and it wouldn't communicate at all with my system.
I was able to get my car into programing mode but the remote did not make contact at all. Others told me that the other remote with the FCC ID: BAB237131-056 was the one for it but I don't want to risk it.
Please respond back!

For someone out there looking for a Remote for the Scion xA 2006, 2005, 2004 do not purchase a Remote that has a FCC ID: HYQ12BBX! All of the Scion remotes are grey and those are the Remotes that the dealer installs. Purchase the FCC ID: BAB237131-056. I have been searching for someone with a Remote
on their Scion xA forever and thank you for letting me know. The dealer BS that they can't tell you this because they want to sell you a new one. So if you have any of the Series 3.0, 2.0, or 1.0 this is your Remote. I cannot talk for all scions but at last you can purchase your Remote through eBay or Amazon
and follow the installation process!
Good luck to everyone reading this!
