my left side head light is not working somehow!
it turns on but its sooo dim its not even bright enough to see the road.
my right side is totally fine and i replaced with new bulb but the left side is
still not working.

how could that be?
is it the fuse?
or something wrong with the soket?

could be a grounding issue or too much resistance in a wire. since its still getting voltage just not enough voltage.

Let's be clear, I tend to get lost being so old and all..... ;) Have you tried the bulb from the left light in the right socket? And do the other bulbs in that fixture still work? Are they dim as well? It sounds like you are not getting all the juice to one lamp, but the wires are not causing a short. If you do find a blown fuse, don't just replace it, find the cause.

Where did the ground the fog lights? If i remember correctly the positive end plugs down below the battery and the negative ground rings goes by the ac dryer and it plugs into the lamps. I would look at the grounding area. Second check the voltage at the head light socket. Worse to worse, you got an excuse to upgrade to hid, which just uses one plug for a signal, then uses a relay kit on the battery, so you will not need the bad head light connection that causes your problem.

Man, sorry to hear of your head light problem since I am going to install oem fog lights in a few weeks. My current ones use a relay kit and are hooked directly to my battery.

I do not know what hid system you have, but one I was going to buy uses a relay kit. They say the hid transformers can cause damage to some cars to the stock head light wiring, so they use a relay that uses the head light socket from the car as a trigger to turn on the independed relay from the battery.

Otherwise, I feel you would have the same problem with hid with the one not lighting or is very dim.

I know it sounds odd, but sometimes a fuse can actually *pop* but still look like its together and still send a signal. We had an audio install do it. However, the fuse only lets a small amount of power through and will still show that its working through a fuse tester. You know the little white stick with the green light. It is blown however and needs to be replaced. Other than that, check your wiring to your headlight. Check for any cuts in your wiring and check both the inside and outside fuse boxes.
