Not to be a naysayer, but I don't see how you possibly reached 125 mph on level ground with no big tail wind. The aerodynamics off this car and the 108 or so HP just wouldn't make that possible.

Is your car pressurized?

It very possible and very easy to do. Its obvious that the people saying its not possible have never even tried. You dont need any wind to do it either.

I dont know guys. I have had 2 boxes and the fastest I could go was 112 in one and 115 in another. Both of those times I was going down a HUGE mountain. I guess there is a chance but I dont really see how. And dont tell me I didnt try because I had my 2005 gto with mods up to about 180 3 times

I've been just over 100 a few times or so... You can see your gas gauge move when you're going that speed!

I would venture to guess that there is significant speedometer error at the higher end. I have been around cars for a LONG time and I just don't see this car doing an "honest" 125 mph. No way, no how.

And what about the 109 mph governor I have read so much about, is everyone defeating those somehow?

I would be willing to bet that these cars cannot poke past 110 in a "true" top speed run.

ive never heard of a 109mph governor before... this car is capable of slightly exceeding 110 if you have the right mods... according to car and driver, the auto xB is drag limited to 103... kinda pointless to have a governor on a car that can't reach it. of course the 5 spd can go a little faster, but not much...

I did a google search for scion xb top speed and a lot of the sources posted top speed as 109 (governor limited). That's where I got that. 103 sounds more likely for the auto, and 110 or a few more for the manual sounds plausible.

Doesn't really matter. A picture of a speedometer means nothing. I'm not doubting folks are getting onto stretches of roads and reaching an indicated 125, I just don't believe that under the proper conditions (temp, wind, level road) that a xB will do a "true" 125 mph. That's just too stout.
