If I was not soo fat and my car soo low to the ground, I would just reach under and do a test fit with a hand full of sockets so I have the right one an d know what I am in to.

Just saying....

I ended up going w/tsudo. It was a breeze to install, and I dig it.

With my cai, header and exhaust, it's a bit loud at certain rpms, but I'm sure about any exhaust would be.

I passed on the pesudo because of the muffled sound and pot metal looking construction. I like the sound of the strup videos and the idea its made of stainless steel. Yum.

seriously, there is a difference in build quality and sound for the price you pay. i have seen many exhausts rusting out and producing buzzy tones after a while on the lower end models that some people opt to get ...

Stainless can still rust.
exactly. i had a TRD exhaust (stainless steel) that came on the box when i bought it used. it was rusted all over the place.
realistically, any exhaust you get is gonna rust at least a bit due to salt and weather factors ...

stainless is an alloy itself of steel and chromium, and any contaminants (which every stainless steel piece will have) will cause it to start corroding/rusting. it will just do so slower than normal steel.
so, yeah it's a stainless exhaust, but don't expect miracles.

I got my muffler. It looks nothing like a muffler. Its a twisted up piece of pipe that points to the ground after looking over the rear axle support. Then it sharply angles upwards as it turns into a coffee can. Its rather low to teh ground and if I did not know any better Id say its for another car. The stock muffler hugged the underside of the car and did not hang down.

Took me 2 hours to install God, having ms sucks.

It seems to be rubbing my hitch support. The sound is rather loud inside the car to the point it gives a headache. I dont think a muffler would do something like that. It does seemto have an hp or two extra and more power from idle to 2 grand. Its the loudest just off idle, then it quiets and gets loud again at 3 grand. 60mph seems to be the loudest speed, it quits before or after that.

Going to see if I can wedge something between the muffler and hitch, otherwise it maybe up for sale or trade.

welcome to the strup and to aftermarket exhausts.
you can't judge exhaust sounds off of youtube clips. it should quiet down in a couple days as it breaks in and the carbon builds up. you can also purchase the silencer from strup to quiet it up a bit.

So, they do give headaches? Maybe I should of went with the trd?

Yeah, new to me. My last cars had oem exhausts, never bothers to modify them.

I think its rather neat how its just as loud to engine braking as it is accelerating. I think if you try to drive it so its quiet, you will get excellent fuel economy. Sill a little roar from idle to clutch engagement.

Seems one of two things happens when accelerating hard. Either its soo noisy it makes the person behind you give you some space because of the noise, or the noise distorts the view so the car behind you just appears smaller. I took off hard in the middle of a strong of stop light and when I roared the guy abck off. Likewise on a on ramp, in 4th at 45 I took it to 60 merging and same thing. This person who was on my bumper backed off.

it really depends on what you're looking for. were you looking for sound? power? looks? design? brand? to give you a comparison the TRD sounds extremely tame compared to a strup. it's barely a bit more aggressive than stock. i had one that came with my car and swapped it out for the greddy ti-c after a couple years because it was just so uninspiring.

it will give you headaches if you're very sensitive to noise, but if not, then you'll get used to it. i think the strup you chose is a great choice. many people love the exhaust though it's definitely not for you if you can't stand the race tone. the exhausts for our engines are typically tuned to be in their note around 3-4K, so that's when it will become the fullest sound (exhaust pulse and such).

I was expecting more of a throatie sound like a porsche. Its just a giant filter for bass noise only, so at idle you get that nice rumble, however off idle it sound like maybe a mountain lion roaring, then at cruse speed a humming or buzzing sound. You seems to loose the air rushing sound between the pulses.

I thought maybe the idle rumble would just increase in speed or pitch, but stay the similar loudness.

I do notice a diff in performance. Let see how fuel economy follows. Shame I am getting and likely installing my weaponr 4 2 1 header in a few days.

Hey if you happen to find a Tsudo exhaust, let me know. I want the fireball. Not too big and looks clean.
