Default Help with Identification

I apologize if this is posted in the wrong place. But can someone please tell me what this is on the rear of my xA block,
and if it had a hose connected to it and what else it connects to?

Thank you.

I'm pretty sure that's the coolant drain for when you drain & refill your antifreeze. It allows you to get everything out of the block.
