Jerky Transmission?
Hi, we recently took an xB for a test drive and were impressed with a lot of things, except the ride quality. The transmission seemed to slip/offer a jerking sensation. My question is, is this a common problem/issue with the xB, or did we experience this as a result of test driving a demo xB (which probably has been through hell and back)?
Was this car an auto or standard, nither should jerk or slip, was it a case of not being use to the clutch. Also was it equiped with stock wheels/tires, suspention or not.
If it was a manual transmission I would have to assume it was operator error. Even if you are used to driving stick, you may need to adapt your driving to this particular clutch.
If it was an automatic I could only assume that the particular xB you drove had problems. My wife has an automatic xB and it has a very smooth transmission.

I had an opportunity to drive a 2004 demo with an automatic while I was getting my extras installed. I was pleasantly surprised. It was very smooth and there was still plenty of torque. I prefer the stick myself, but the automatic was a lot better than i thought it would be.
