Well done. Where did you have the jack stands located? I was worried if I unbolted the subframe, the car body would move around.

I placed the entire car on stands on the four corners.

Floor jack 1 with wood block to raise the motor.

Floor jack 2 placed below the center of the subframe. I put an extra stand on each side of the subframe as safety but that turned not to be an issue.

the biggest challenge was to line it all up together where the mount through bolt went through straight. Took quite some moving the engine up and down.

I also had to bend one of the power steering lines a bit to create space for the through pin / bolt.

FYI I did not need to detach the exhaust.

hope this helps.

Nice work. Not to change the subject but are the hood struts OG or aftermarket?

Default Bad Motor mounts

Have u or anyone have or has had motor mounts go bad on u every year?? Got an 2095 scion xb manual. Every year since basically a year after buying it I have had to replace them everytime I need an inspection. I don't understand how this is happening. I literally live across a highway 5 min up the road from home to my job. I dont drive it much at all in the last couple years. I don't fly over speed bumps or humps or anything. I have a big ___ speaker box that takes up the entire trunk with 2 12s. Lol so I'm definitely not zooming over anything to cause them to bounce.

Sorry for the long post I just wanted to explain a lil n get some feedback if anyone had any. TIA

That's not normal.
1) Is it the same mount or different ones (there are 3).
2) Who's identifying it? You or the Inspector?

Yeah, something is not adding up here.

1. What mount(s) are you referring to?
2. Who replaced them each time? If done by garage / mechanic go back to this person.
3. Are the replacement mounts OEM or aftermarket? Make sure OEM next time to assure best outcome.

Yeah. Sometimes, the way the rubber looks it can appear "split" but it's actually fine. Also, it they're getting crappy parts...even still, I'd expect el-cheapo Amazon stuff to last over a year

A mechanic but I can usually tell when they're bad too. From the noise n jerk it does. It been the all 3 at least twice i believe. But I still don't understand why this is happening. Could there be another issue that could cause it??
