wow another grand just to install? well im pretty sure im tach savy enough to install the kit, just not tune it. so thats prob all i would need is the tuning.
That was just a random number I picked, but it wouldn't suprise me for a shop to charge around that amount to do the install. The kit isn't hard to install if you have the right tools. The most important one being a lift as there is allot of work that needs to be done from underneath the car.

If you are doing the work yourself, then the real question is..... do you want to be doing the amount of work needed everytime you have to do smog?

you can have someone hook up a laptop to your engine management and tune it while driving it

Especially when using emanage. Tuning on the street is way better than a dyno. The only thing you don't get is a hp number.

Personally I am not a fan of block guards. They aren't normally installed correctly and can put more pressure on the cylinder walls than the boost you are adding to them. Plus under high temps, they expand at a different rate than the block, and can cause the issue they were designed to prevent.
How much power do you plan on making?
The stock block will handle quite a bit of power. Rods and pistons will 90% of the time handle most peoples needs with our motors.

Yes, I would help you or anyone who has questions regarding installation of my parts or anyone elses. My main goal is to help the SCION community learn and evolve.

I get allot of requests like yours and its not a problem.

300whp I would like to make, which I think is realistic, but 400whp is my true goal. What do you think? I think it was ZPI that I talked to that said they were aiming for 400whp, idk.

300 is going to be much easier than 400. I have a few customers right now that are shooting for 400whp as well.

The 300 whp goal can be achieved with rods/pistons, a GT2871R or something similar, upgraded valvetrain and a full stand alone ECU (AEM EMS).

Shooting for the 400 mark is going to take a lot more work. Good headwork, maybe even a change in cams and a good intake manifold. But only time will tell as we haven't seen the limits on the amount of air the motor can flow.

Everyone says that about every 4cyl. If little honda motors can take 300 daily easily, so can our toyota motor. Haters..

Please elaborate a bit more please....I am very curious as why you would think so. Plus it could lead to some interesting discussion.

our motors are nowere near as good as onduhs in the high hp daily driven area. 300 hp on a b16 or b18 is still daily , as in it isn't near it's max hp output.

whereas i'd be pretty damned sure that 300 or 400 hp will be just about THE limit for the 1nzfe
