Don't have a AFR chart... Might be able to do a street run and hold the camera over the wideband...

if zpi can get an auto tC to 222whp @ an afr of 11.3 under wot... then is possible. thats a 100whp gain fo ran auto! theyve done it on the m/t...so why cant it be duplicated on a xB?

You Guys would have saved yourselves a lot of heat if this would have been your first post for the kit. Good kit/Bad Release.

My concern with the check engine light living in Pa is inspection. You can not legally pass your inspection with a CEL. At that point you ride becomes a fast little metal sculpture for your driveway.

Nice job on the Dyno run. Seems like you got the clutch replaced at least. I didn't see 180 horses on the first video but the clutch was slipping so bad you couldn't tell much.

I still think that is the wrong turbo for the application but it does the trick. There are a few more that can spool up faster. That is more important to me. 3700 or so is O.K. I want 3400ish. That would be a great turbo.

nester: I hope you're not talking about the turbo on our xB... or you're kidding? We ran a small 16g on a WRX at 269awhp... This is a big 16g.. ;) We've run this evo3 big 16g turbo over 300whp on a tC.. If you surpass that... We have Mitsu flanged turbos in stock and ready to bolt on..
Any performance shop should agree what is best for a WRX might not be the best application for a 1nz-fe. It definately runs good in a 1.5 liter but it was designed for 2.x liter motors. I just don't agree with your choice of turbo, that's all.

another 2-300cc's more displacement would give you 3400. I get full boost @ 3400 on my 1.8 liter miata.

Thats so awesome.

To bad you'll won't be around on the 9th when we race at Bithlo. I'd love to see this xB up against a few locals w/ nitrous and/or blowers.

the intercooler piping will be slightly different, but yes.. we have every intention of offering it for the xA.

Not for the dyno run. I can probably get one for a street run.

I'm so glad I live in SC. I could pull the cat, pull the exhaust, trip every light , and run the thing off of straight Smirnoff as long as I've got lights and a tag.

you guys could save yourself a lot of trouble re designing the piping kit for the xA by just doing a windshield washer fluid tank delete...less piping the better.

I think what you don't get is that the kit isn't even released yet! Sure, I am still sitting back not taking anything posted on some random web forum as gospel, but I know the score. What we have been seeing in these posts and on the ZPI website is all PRE-PRODUCTION PROTOTYPES. ZPI has been kind enough to let the Scion community in on the behind the scenes action.

Everything we are seeing now is pre-production. Does that mean we can't be critical? Of course not. Criticism and critiquing is good. It helps get us (potential customers) answers and helps ZPI address concerns of potential customers. We just have to remember that this thing isn't offered to the public yet because it wasn't ready! The ZPI crew has stated this over and over. I know plenty of other shops that would have started shipping kits as soon as they got their pipe routing sorted out.

Give them time to finish development. When ZPI actually steps forward and says "we're done, the kit is ready to ship," then you can be critical of their launch if it doesn't meet your expectations.

Oh yeah... and for ZPI... I sure do hope part of that development includes obtaining CARB certification.

Agreed with RTon. Informal Dyno with out Emanage, no Cat Convertor, so no O2 Sensors, No internals done, and this is first run.

Relax people. Please settle down and let ZPI do thier job. If you believe you can make a better turbo kit, please by all means get a job working for a company that does that and stop talking trash.

Only question I have, and a SRT tuner have is what is up with the power band on the Dyno? it shows 0 horsepower up to about 3500RPMs. Just looked a lil odd to us.

Also do you plan a run with the 8.5:1 pistons, P&P and Crank pulley?

The mustang dyno has a set start and stop MPH. Which causes it to not record until a particular speed is reached. I forget what we had it set at.. This differs from the Dynojet, where you just push a button to start the run.

Here's an example of a end speed set too low.

As for the pistons and whatnot.. we're limited to the vehicles we have on hand.. We won't do pistons on this car until either we hurt the engine or we get crazy.

Good stuff, thanks for the quick reply. I'd do pistons and rods just to besafe, and to crank up the boost a lil :D
