Air Displacement for the 10w7 is 141.3cu. in.
Air Displacement for 2 12w6v2 is 293.8cu. in.
^^ that's at full XMAX....meaning if you used one 10w7 at full possible power, and 2 12w6v2's also at full possible power (in rational boxes), the 2 12's will move more air and thus increase the pressure(SPL as compared to the 10) of the air surrounding the sub(inside the car).....

if you take 2 12w6's in a small sealed box and a 10w7 in a wall tuned to 50-60Hz, you can expect the 10 to be louder.....

heres a mind bender... how to calculate a 10w7 to a 12w6v2 with this chart
3) How do they compare to the W3v2's and W6's in terms of output?
10W7 has 90% more displacement potential than a 10W3v2 (5.6 dB)
10W7 has 114% more displacement potential than a 10W6 (6.6 dB)
12W7 has 158% more displacement potential than a 12W3v2 (8.2 dB)
12W7 has 166% more displacement potential than a 12W6 (8.5 dB)
13W7 has 55% more displacement potential than a 15W3 (3.8 dB)
13W7 has 144% more displacement potential than a 15W6 (7.7 dB)

If those are your only two choices, go with the w6v2. I had a 10W7 for a while in both a ported and sealed box. I wasn't satisfied with either setup.
I sold it for an Adire Tempest which killed the 10W7 in SQ (in my opinion anyway). I don't think I'd ever buy a JL sub again, their amps however are a totally different story.
