I've had every size sub, and I must admit that it never seems to be enough...thus when I bought my box I knew the trunk would be eliminated for the most part. check out my profile to see what I mean.

Honestly, i've owned a single 10, 12, dual 10s, dual 12s, and 3 10s.... All of them were performance driven by mono block D class amps.... The best sounding and most versatile one was by far the 600 watt 10" dual voice coil with a behemoth magnet and excursion... Unfortunatly it would devour a good half of the space if n ot more thats behind the seats.

Behold: a low profile, 500 watt, 12" sub that fits under the front passanger seat with room to spare and sounds AWESOME

Soon to be available in 10" and 8" flavors, but the custom audio store i go through has already built me a box for the 12" that fits under the passanger seat. I've just gotta find time to go get it installed.

I'd say get a 10inch in your ride if you want trunk room and some bump. I have a single Memphis Audio DVC 10 in a vented box hooked to lanzar class D amp and it has more thump than I will ever use. It also only takes up not even half my trunk space, and the best part is that if I ever need more room it comes out very easily

Another option for you would be to get a few Elemental Designs EU700's. In my opinion they are the perfect alternative for someone who wants good, clean sounding bass without losing a ton of cargo space and without spending alot of money. Their $50 a piece and they sound freakin' amazing!!

I'm running two 8s and hit hard. It's all in the speaker, enclosure, and amp setup. I have no "trunk" space, but I don't care as there is tons of cargo room if I need it. The sub box is on a quick disconnect if I ever need to remove it.

You can't really compare "this"size to "this" size... I've heard 18's that sound as good as some 12's and 10's that sound like poo but are louder than some 15's or 18's....

I really like the musical sound that's produced by my 2 6.5" subs... Elemental Design Eu-700's... some really great sounding subs aside from the ID's that mark mentioned are the Adire Audio's... sweet sounding subs!

^^ Is the volume of the enclosure correct for the required volume by the sub?? Tuning persay isn't accomplished with a sealed box, mainly with ported type boxes... PM me with your system specs and I'll try to help you out if you'd like

what you can do is run 1 10'' sub and wire it to a class D amp.. that will pound like no other

^^ that's a pretty general statement.... so you're saying a road gear 10" in a cardboard box with a memphis 1000d is gonna pound??? probably not

A good quality 10" in the correct enclosure, with a class-d amp (running around the recommend wattage) that's wired corectly and set properly should sound very good and hit hard too!!! I knew what you were saying, just givin ya a hard time..

Class-d amps are more efficient... sometimes have more THD, but with subwoofers, unless you're wanting total SQ comp level, a class d will do ya well!! majority of people wouldn't be able to tell a class-d from an a/b in terms of SQ only

a couple years ago I got a road master pecie of $^!T to sound like a monster, it was pretty funny, right amount of air space in a sealed box and it sounded good, ported sounded like crap, but then about a month later the guy cam by and showed it to me and he blew the cone off it and the voice coil came out the back.

I have two Sony Explodes 10" 1100w with a Sony Class D mono, 1200w Amp, and am bridged @ 2 ohms and a big box downfiring. Hits extreamly hard, most people almost $^!t themselves when I tell them that is 2 sonys and a sony amp. I will be selling soon for two Eternal Series Audiobaghns I know I spelled wrong.

^^ that's pretty dang invalid.... naturally if you've got a 15" sub with near full RMS wattage going through it then it's gonna "sound" sloppier because of the overwhelming volume coming from it... take the same sub and balance it with the rest of the system and it'll be as clean as a smaller sub of similar caliber..

^^ Hasn't heard a 16Ov2 on a nine.1 yet

More on topic, I like the sound of 12's...two twelves to be exact. They seem to go a little lower, a little easier. My two tens were nice but the two twelves are great. Perfect balance for my front stage.

Yeah, I have heard it.... and to an untrained ear, it will sound sloppier.... but I don't agree with that... people who say "10's hit tighter than a 12 or 15" are idiots IMO...

My 19Ov.2 was teh sloppiness.

^^ that's sarcasm.

I can easily make an 8" sub sound a LOT worse than even a Jackhammer
