I have an MTX Thunder 3401 amp and it shut off on me this weekend. It still gets power but the short light just flashes anybody know how to fix this or is the amp finished?

 

is it running hot when it was running? check to make sure your ground is good and the fuse is good

 

It has a fan and the fan is constantly on now. all the outside fuses are good as well as the ground.

 

hmmm. sounds like it might be running hot since the fan is constantly on. is this still underwarranty by chance? if so i would send back as there might be something internally that's causing it to run hot

 

Nah not under warranty. I think I might try to remove the top and see if there is an internal fuse that is blown. I had power off of it for 2 days and as soon as I powered it back up the fan kicked on. Kinda weird.

 

oh ok. was gonna say if under warranty send it. ya it might be an internal fuse; because it definatley shouldn't run constantly right off of power on

 

Looks like the amp uses a special Torx bit so I'll have to go buy one to open it up. This sucks!

 

ya all of MTX equipment uses it. (all my roommate's stuff does anyways) check autozone; you can get it cheap
