Default Problems with my amp!!!

Okay, I'm new to car audio, and I just recently upgraded my system, I bought (2) Elemental Designs 13oV.2 subs, and an eD NINe.1 amp, and a set of eD 6000s components. The installer wired the subs at 1ohm. It worked fine for about 15 mins then the NINe.1 went into "Protect mode". The installer told me something is internally wrong the amp, so he hooked up my Hifonics BX605 to the Ov's and wired that down to 1ohm. It worked fine for like a day. I'd say I had the gain about half way, and now the Hifonics amp went into "Protect Mode." I'm really thinking this "Certified" installer doesn't have the first clue what he is talking about!! What should I do? Why is this happening?

Give the guys @eD a call tomorrow. They will "walk thru" the install and help. Lifetime customer service...use it!

How did you set the gains? DMM? Scope? Are your grounds good? Bare metal? And do you have enough voltage? What size wires/fuses?

G/L!

Oh no's.

Definitely call us...unless you have already.

And don't go to that shop anymore....2 amps in protect from one shop sounds like a faulty install

What impedence are the coils on the subs? If they're dual 4 your installer did wire them for 1 ohm assuming all coils are paralleled. If they're dual 2 ohm and all coils are paralleled I could see why your amp did that. Mark
