The flasher relay on my xB seems to be hard to remove.
I recall seeing a picture of some sort of tab holding one or two sides of the relay to the junction box.

Anyone know the trick?

if you check out https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=132513 I have a section about the flasher (how I removed it). It was a real pain to remove. I'm not sure, maybe dealer has some sort of a tool. But nothing is mentioned about special flasher removal tools in the Service Manual.

Sort of. With a bit of twisting. I posted a picture of it in that writeup to show where the latching tabs are on it. That'll give you an idea how to try to pull it.
