Default 06 xb click when applying brake and in park

Well my Boomerang arm rest showed up today and rather than wait til the weekend I went ahead and installed following all directions. It went in perfectly. Except now when I'm in "park" and apply the brake so I can shift I can hear a click in the console. Loud enough to be irritating. When installing the armrest I only lifted the back of the console so I have no idea what's up front.

Any ideas before I have to take it apart again this weekend (when it's light out!!)

well I know that the "clicking" you are referring to is the lock mechinism that prevents you from switching it out of Park w/out the brake pedal being pushed in, that in all automatic cars..... But I have no idea why it would be any louder now that you have installed the armrest....? Sorry I dont have a better answer

I'm wondering if there was a plastic or rubber washer or spacer that I dislodged when I was moving the console.......Will find out soon enough I guess...especially if I decide to try the LEDs in the cupholders ;-)

it shouldn't be louder.. your brake pedal has NOTHING to do with your center console. I've ALWAYS heard my break pedal click.. and yes, its a safety mechanism.. Still annoys me tho..

I'm not an expert but if I hold the shifter when I apply the brake there is definitley something "clicking" against the shifter and releasing it so I can put it in gear. It clicks again when I put it in park and relase the brake.

I'm willing to bet when you installed the boomerang you put those two plastic lifters too close to the e-brake and it's rubbing everytime you move it. You need to slide them back some even though in the directions they appear to be more forward.

It happens with the brake pedal, not the e-brake...........
