Rear Suicide Doors Project **NEW PICS 26th Updated**
Like I have mentioned earlier in this post , ur car looks sick as hell. I love to have that on my XB too. Despite all the critism that you are getting from some people, I will have to give you props for taking up alot of your free time to make something happened that others were unsuccessful on. GOOD JOB!!!
Just a question though, not sure if this is feasable. Have you thought about removing the center peice in between doors (having a brain fart on the technical term for it)? I assume that you would have to do some more reinforcement due to any side impact crash to protect you & your passengers. Again, not sure if this is feasable or even achieveable, but would look sick with the whole interior part wide open. Just thought I see if that ever crossed your mind, but again GOOD JOB & hope that you are abel to attract more customers and more money to your business. If I lived closer, i sure would stop by to look at it & of course, pay to have you do some work to my XB.
Keep up the good work

Yes I have thought about removing the B pillar but then the door doesnt have anything to latch to. Unless I put a latch on the top and bottom. I would love the look without it but .. not worth the re-enforment id have to do a full cage.

Holy Crap!! I would've cried when cutting mine up like that!! Damn!! Notice the use of the double exclamation point to illustrate my surprise!!
Looks strong as hell though. Keep up the good work and keep us posted.

Wow! Challenging work. I had a question that I hadn't seen posted yet>>>
I wondered if you were doing electric or hydraulic door closers or will these be strictly mechanical? (I suspected power assist doors with the shaved handles but wanted to make sure I wasn't making a wrong assumption)
Any special considerations with this particular refit or pretty mush straightforward stuff?
Looking forward to following this thread. Thanks for sharing!

I like to keep everythign mechanical. Poppers are ____ty and go bad after awhile. I use 1 popper for my drivers door and if anyone else is getting into the car I roll the windows down from my keypad as well. The rear doors will still have the handle in the same spot and be used the same way.

Still havent decided weather or not to make the rear open independently or not. I think it is alot safer to have to open the front door open first so I might leave it that way, but I would like to have the rear open independently. Just need to make up my mind.
