I would want to know if it covers the clutch, everyone says the clutch sucks, most places say its a wear item like brakes and no warranty covers it...but again I haven't seen alot of people who didn't have mods who had slipping clutches with the xB, so if yours is stock it may not be an issue.

i got the 7/100,000 because ill definately put the 100K on the car before the 7 years is up.

i tried to save money by getting the cheaper warrantee when i bought my SRT-4, i mean the salesman even said that the car should last a long time before any work would be needed, it dropped a valve in 3 months... and they werent covering it because i didnt have the best protection plan.

dicks.

Do you really think 1100 bucks will cover the first major thing to go wrong...yea right.

No way I'm gonna risk it with a car that has NOT been proven as far as dependability and reliability in the long run.

I also went with the 6Year/100,000mile warranty!!

I'm guessing the two that asked already got their cars and made a decision about the service contract/extended warranty, but for those who care here's my .02.

I got the 7yr/100000mi Toyota Extra Care contract for my xB AND I WORK AT THE DEALERSHIP. In fact, most of our technicians have a service contract as well. That way, they get paid to work on their own cars instead of finding time off of work to do what they do all damn day long.

Also, at least concerning Scion contracts, price isn't negotiable. They are pure price like everything else and are posted on the dealership's website (that's all part of compliance with the Scion covenant).

I think these contracts are a very good value and certain ones even refund your money if you run over the end of the contract without using it. The finance manager at your dealership should be able to tell you which ones those are and offer them to you at the posted price.

Alex is totally right here. I also WORK AT THE DEALERSHIP and purchased the 7/100k warranty. When you look at the facts youre car is a machine. Regardless of reliability ratings machines break from time to time for whatever reason. Even though I sell Scions Im not a millionaire and I dont wanna have to spend a couple hundred or even thousand dollars out of pocket when I can pay a few bucks a month instead.

Also as Alex has mentioned, the warranty pricing falls into the Pure Price system and is not negotiable. I paid $1100 just like everybody else...

Well I almost bought one when the financial lady said well as long as your not an idiot and change your oil the only thing this will ever fix is a broken window motor that toyota is notorious for and besides thats around 5yrs later. Soo I just had to pass.

The warranty price was negotiable when I bought my car, when I declined it the financial manager was there and was like give it to him for $700 he'll buy it then....Not

Yep, well, I guess I didn't say that this doesn't happen, just that it's non-compliant.

Trust me, Scion is very thorough when checking compliance and they will see anything that is discounted or overpriced and punish the dealership for that.

Usually extended warranties are a waste, especially for electronics. For mechanical devices in the real world it's a toss-up most of the time.

I did get the extended warranty on my xB just because it is easier for me to plan for a known expense like that rather than to have to scramble if something major breaks (major meaning 'bunch of bucks').

I may end up not having used the extended warranty when it finally expires, but I will still know that HAD something gone **Sproing!!!** it would have been less of a disaster to me financially than it could have been.

i brought my car in to get the tapping noise to stop (from my roof) ....if i had to pay the bill it would have been over $2k --- be smart and spend the $$ on the warranty. for the tc the extended warranty also covers rims.

I picked up the blue box yesterday and took the Platinum zero deductible 7/75k for $875. This car will go to college with my son in 4 years and having that extended warranty available with towing/loaner cars/travel protection is a very good deal. Warranties are insurance afterall. I wish I could add up all the money I have paid for things like car insurance that I never had to tap into. I'd have enough to buy several more boxes....

^^^^Really! If something big would happen to break, or if you constantly have trouble, what is $1100 gonna do?! I got the 6Year/100,000 mile warranty, and I'm very happy that I did! I've had nothing but bad luck with cars, and even though it's a Toyota, if something were to happen, I'm very glad knowing that all I pay out of pocket is $50 bucks. I totally recommend getting an extended warranty....you never know!

Default what is excluded?

Is it true that the clutch is excluded from these warranties?

What about the windshield?

What else would not be covered aside from oil, filters, hoses, and belts ?
