fiat ? aren't they only sold in europe ? hmmm..... ford motor company is only so large since they own soo many different companies and each one they touch turns to poo.
I read an article in C+D or motor trend a few days ago that highlighted GM's attempted takeover of Fiat Auto. Good Stuff. Cliff notes: GM paid $2Bil for 10 or 20% of Fiat, they later paid/or have to pay another $2bil to get out of the deal. one link:http://motortrend.com/features/news/112_news66/

Ferrari is part of FIAT also. FAIT have a larger market than the US does with affordable cars and a lineup like GM but more world wide

Default Get the manual transmission if she knows how to drive it

I am 33 and my Xb is our urban family car. I love it to death for all of the reasons stated above. I would just add this: If your daughter knows how to drive stick or is willing to learn, you should consider buying the 5 spd. In my opinion, it makes the car eminently more driveable. I test drove the auto and thought it was dreadfully underpowered, esp when merging onto the highway.

Good luck!

Just picked mine up on Friday, after waiting 3 weeks. I took ScionLife's advice.
The dealer told me that they could get one the weekend I ordered it, but it would have like 300 miles on it. I turned to scionlife and they told me to wait. Moral of the story is
If you listen to "us" you won't be disappointed.
