The "I got an xB and am So Excited!" Thread!
Just picked up my Salsa Red box last night. Someone asked for a timeline to anticipate receipt date, so here is mine:
July 13: car scheduled to be in port.
July 17: was told that car was in port.
July 20: was told that car was no longer in port (should arrive sometime mid next week).
July 24: was told to come in and pick up the car (monday).
It may be worth noting:
1. the only port options I wanted were the iPod stereo and the floor mats - not sure if more options would have kept it in port longer or not.
2. I believe the port was in San Diego, California (someone correct me if I am wrong). I am in Provo, Utah. Total distance, like 800 miles.
Final comment: I only wanted 2 port options, neither one difficult, and both fairly obvious. Can you believe they forgot to put in the iPod stereo. So now the dealer has to order one, so that will be a week or so. And I've got to take before and after pictures of my dash to prove the damage that dealers always seem to do when asked to do something.

Bought my polar white xB automatic this weekend. Dropped in to the Scion dealer in Escondido, CA and did the deal. Easy transaction.
I purchased the xB to use as a commuter car (gas mileage) and relatively spacious interior for an economy car. I am 6' 2" and the car fits me well.
Read through the forums and have already purchased some accessories online.
1. Rostra cruise control, will install myself. www.allscion.com/cruisecontrol.html
2. Cathode lighting systems for the interior. Looks like an easy install. www.oznium.com
3. Bumper applique, stainless door sills. www.trdsparks.com
Also plan to take out the clock and switch the LED's to blue.
Having fun already!

Wooo Hooo !!
I am so loving my new toaster.
I ordered my xB on Friday -- picked it up on Monday.
Blue Onyx Pearl -- 5 speed.
I have spent the past 3 days thinking of places I need to go, just for an excuse to drive my new baby.
I must say, this is the most fun I have had driving in years. (maybe ever)
I can't help myself, everytime I park my xB, I fondly look back at it 2-3 times as I am walking away.
Totally diggin' this car !
Car love .... who would have thought ?

Hello guys/gals. I am the proud new owner of an 06 Polar white xB (manual) and I just wanted to chime in and share my excitement.
I am brand new to this site, but not to the auto enthusiast community. Like many of you I come from the Honda scene. Also, like many of you I am all grown up and decided to purchase a vehicle with style, value and most of all practicality...hence the xB.
Anyways, everyone here seems pretty cool and laid back and I am looking forward to learning and contributing with you all!

ahhhhhhh, now i know why i was so excited! i see i'm not the only one...
last week i picked up a brand-new straight-off-the-boat 2006 Scion xB in Salsa Red Pearl, manual transmission, no extra's whatsoever. will buy everything for it after-market. i lost my first ebay auction but there will be others...
took a trip up to Orlando this weekend and averaged 28-32MPG. perfect!
(gas-guzzling was the only reason i was pried away from my 99Amigo)
Good luuuuuuck to the rest of the new owners in here!

When i bought mine i had been awake for like 28 hours so i wasn't overly enthusiastic. I've had it a little more than two years and i still love it. Alot of people seem to be selling theirs for various reasons but i will keep mine until it's dead. For all new buyers if you want good gas mileage keep the RPM's at 3000 and check your tire pressure frequently. Keep your windows rolled up going down the highway and don't do quick take off's at stop lights. Common sense.....it's an endangered species.
Just got my xB on Saturday from Isaac at Toyota of Grand Rapids (Michigan). Outstanding service all around and, having driven it for less than a week, I am forever my xB's biggest fan.
Driving around town, I've seen three other xB's. A fellow TM, a black one, and a local courier service has one for deliveries, which I thought was pretty cool to see.

I am learning so much reading back thru tons of old threads on this board.
Thanks to everyone for sharing your experiences and giving tips.
I know I'm not the "target market" that Toyota was aiming at with this car (a woman - many years older than most of you posting here) -- but I LOVE my xB and haven't had this much fun with a car in years.

Bsbox ....
Good to hear you are still diggin' your Xb after a few years -- I see me holding on to mine as well.
And thanks for the reminder on the common sense tips.
I have now gone thru one fill-up of my xB - and calculated a 34 MPH for the first tank.
enigmaingr ....
I'm in Michigan too. (Ann Arbor)
I've seen 3 other xB's driving around here as well.
One has been converted into a funky/cool independent city taxi - painted out in a glossy Blue + Maize for U of M.
It definately catches your eye.

I got a Shadow Mica xB (automatic) on Friday afternoon... it had the 15" alloys already on (they had ordered it for someone who changed their mind), and I def. wanted the wheels and the colour... I'm getting the sub installed this week along with the iPod compatible stereo and I'm very VERY excited for that stuff to finally get in my car!
But seriously, I love love LOVE my box... yeah, at first it's not really eye candy but it's SOO roomy and it's SOO fun to drive... I'm such a proud owner!!!!

I'm thinking about buying one...I'll be giving up on my Subaru which I love to death, but the AWD kills my gas mileage. I'm still trying to figure out if I want to give up the great winter handling for the better gas mileage.
I'm a "mom" too, but obviously been a car nut forever-so I don't want anyone to accuse me of being a soccer mom. If anything you can call me hockey mom. But I'm the one that plays. The box looks like it would be perfect for my little ones car seat, and all my goalie gear.

I “ordered” mine on July 16 and picked it up on July 31. It had 1 mile on the odometer when I drove it off the lot. Only option I got through the dealer was the iPod upgraded stereo.
The internet is defiantly the way go for substantial savings on OEM parts. I got the fog lights, with shipping, for $209 on ebay. The UPS truck has become a common site in front of the house this week.
