The "I got an xB and am So Excited!" Thread!
It all started a few weeks ago in the early morning hours of Feb. 21. I was on my way home from work, about 1/4 mile away from home, when I got rear-ended at a red light. I was driving an '03 Focus and got hit by a Chevrolet 1500 4x4. The next day, I learn that the insurance company is totalling the car, and is going to stop comping my rental car in 3 days (the following Monday). Which gave me, a first-time car buyer (I just took up the notes on the Focus), 3 days to go through the entire car buying process start to finish. I was a little stressed out. So I start looking at cars around the $15-16k range, having no idea what I wanted. I started out looking at the Nissan Versa, the Mazda 3, and the Scion xA. Being a large guy (6'1 300lbs) none of those really worked out for me. I really wanted to go with the xA, but wasn't too keen on having the steering wheel sitting in my lap :p The dealer then starts talking to me about the xB. I had never really considered getting one, but I heard good reviews about them before. So we go over to look at one, I sat inside, and I knew from that moment: this was the car I was going to buy. Went back to the dealer on Feb. 26, worked out all the financing, and drove home with my new box! It's got about 500 miles and no mods on it yet, but I love love love it!

I see you got yours at magic Toyota also ;-) I wanted the blue color like yours but looks like I was too late lol. I am sure I will get the springs as well but thought they charged way too much to install. Let me know how that goes. I work inLynnwood so maybe I'll see ya on the road.
Brand new member to the forum here. Sitting in a hotel room after picking up my 2006 xb manual tranny. Been looking for over a year and finally plunked down the bucks on a rebuilt salvage dark blue model with 9000 miles on it. Needless to say, I'm nervous, i.e. no warranty etc. but just drove it 200 miles at 80mph and it rocks! Everything is tight, straight and true.
I couldn't afford it otherwise, so we will see. Anyway, great to be hear.
Two things I do need..and owners manual...and how do you get the search to work right here? If you type in ssp settings..or anything..you get a zillion posts to go thru until you find something even close. Any tips on how to narrow it down?
Looking forward to the future!

Just picked up a brand new 2006 XB 4.0 standard and it is awsome, great on gas and alot of room for me 6'4" and the family, 2 kids and a wife. So far only 300 miles on it. They guys at work think I am crazy, my other vehicle is a 2004 Harley Road King. I just tell them my car now gets better gas milage than my motorcycle.. ha ha ha..
Ok, I am the new guy here. So three weeks ago I picked up a BOP 2006-7 XB from Puyallup Scion for the little wife. We had the 18" TRD alloys and lowering springs installed, along with the rear spoiler, floormats, and cargo cover. I liked hers so much, (And after learning through this great forum about the 2008 XB, YUK) that last Sunday I went back down to the dealer and asked if they could find me a SRP XB, I picked it up Monday. It goes in this week to have all the same accessories installed as the BOP. I'll get some pic.s up when I get it back. But I must say that Puyallup Scion Rocks. The service I got during, and after these two purchases is the BEST I've ever had from a dealership handsdown.
we just picked up a rs 4 last wednesday night for my wife. we had an 04 nissan quest, but didn't like it much.... we just love the torch penny 'lunch box' though! better ride, more fun to drive, all the room we could need for my wife, 3 yr old son, and myself. got it from stone mountain toyota in ne atlanta, and they were great to deal with. easily the greatest dealership experience i've ever had.
and now the obligatory pic:

we've got a 69 ih travelall for the home depot runs and dog hauling, and i'm in an 01 4runner that i'll probably be swapping in for a tc before the end of the year. those things are pretty impressive as well.

I picked up my 2006 BOP about two and a half weeks ago. Being in Canada, it was a little bit harder to obtain since there are only a handful that can be found anywhere, as well as the fact that financing an xB just doesn't happen with banks. With a little patience, a lot of help from the financing guy at Country Hills Toyota in Calgary, and determination on my behalf, I was able to get it.
It does have 14,000 miles on it, but it runs and looks like it is right out of the showroom. BOP, manual tranny, rear spoiler, huge exhaust, floor mats, cargo mat, center console all came with the car.
My plans for it are pretty straight forward. Rims, stereo, and airbag suspension. It's just a matter of getting the cash to do that work. Thank goodness for my new job!
