The "I got an xB and am So Excited!" Thread!
Just got my 2006.5 last week. It's a PW repainted taxi cab yellow and stock as could be. 6,500 miles on it. I have been lurking for a year envying every single owner.
Put in a new air filter, cabin air filter, putting in Monroe 5987's next weekend, and have a bid in for some wheels and tires on Ebay.
Thanks to everyone for all of the great information posed here, DIY photos and opinions. It has really helped me know what my options are, what I like and what I don't.
As well as what I have no hope of affording. Sigh...
Rock on!

I feel strange never having posted on this topic since it's such an important one. I've had my xB since January of '05. I originally wanted the tC, but my more practical side led me to purchase the xB. I must say that within seconds of driving off the lot I was in love with it. I'm still happy with my trouble-free box two years, two accidents, and seventy-two thousand miles later.
Add me to the list of scionoids! Just got an 04 xB, Thunder Cloud Gray, with only 23,000 miles on it. Deep tint windows that look sharp with the gray. Paid $12,500 at a Ford lot -- pretty good price, I think!
I love this car. I've owned a large number of fun cars in my 53 years, and this is among my faves ever -- including a series of MGs, three Miatas, a Mercedes SL500, two Bimmers, Audi Quattro. In fact, traded in a low-mileage BMW 330 for the Box, and am happy I did.
Other car is an '05 Prius driven primarily by my wife. No, we're not tree huggers -- we just like things that are designed and built to world-class standards. And that's a class in which I'd put the Box.

Bought my NEW 2006 Thundercloud manual xB today on Long Island - Victory Toyota in Inwood. 35 miles on the odo. Spent several days dickering with two dealerships that had only manual 2006 xB's (I was real productive at work) - in the New York City area driving a clutch is almost unheard of, so manuals really don't sell. I'm just an old VW Beetle dude, (at 41) comfortable with the stick. Pleased as punch with the purchase, and the 3 kids are psyched to have a funky car.
Two of the three cars in question were thickly covered with dust/pollen and batteries were totally flat.
I was hoping to get dealers to concede on price, but nothing doing. My 13-year-old trade (1994 Saturn SW2) was quoted first at $100, then $1000, then $1500, then $2000, and finally $2300. That's practically retail value - the only way that they were able to cut me a deal. Saved me $200 in sales tax on the purchase, as well. No advertising or documentation fees ($45 doc fee was stricken out in the first 5 min). No junk whatsoever - I may have gotten one of the better deals on a 1st gen xB. Timing (end of month) was fortuitous. It's May 2007, for heaven's sake.
Gave Millennium Scion (Hempstead) a chance to beat, and they said I was crazy to expect more than $1500 for the trade - they said that the other dealer was taking a sizable loss. Maybe. I did like their Salsa Red model, but I'm pleased with the TC I ended up with.
No customization for me. I like my pizza with cheese - thankyouverymuch.
I was able to hang tough because I was somewhat ambivalent about giving up the ol' Saturn and I am the original El Cheap-o. The wife was supportive of the purchase but is not pleased with the third pedal. I'll get her used to it - She's from VA after all.
Scion.com says that there are only 277 06 xB's still in inventory. Where's that fat lady?
Cowabunga!

I bought a Burgundy '05 XB with 18,900 miles for $11,140 with NO MONEY DOWN!
Total out the door with tax, tag, title, dealer fees, and gap insurance was $12,800
My payments for a 5 year loan is at $280 a month but I expect to have it paid in 3 years.
Oh, and I saved a ton of money on my car insurace by switching to GEICO! (for real, I had Progressive but the geco's deal was too good to pass up!)
I thank God for the deal I got on my XB!!! SSSWEEEET! Can't wait to start modding!

Hi folks. I'm a geez. I bought an 06 xB Pearl Salsa Red June 2, picked it up June 8 and have been having a blast since. It's got a stick, the iPod radio, 24k miles. It's a 21st century VW microbus! Pack two road bikes in the back or schlepp my 85 yr old Dad around town for his B-12 shots in style. 31+ mpg around town.
Cherry-8 replaces a 90 Honda Prelude w/176k miles that I loved dearly, but this baby is one nice set of wheels. I'm a happy man.

I will get some pics up as soon as I get wheels, the stockers are BLEH!

I just purchased a brand new 06 torched box. It has been on the showroom floor so i get to be the first owner. I also just purchased an 08 tC for my wife so we are now a scion family. Pics coming as soon as the box arrives.
just got mine about a month ago on the 25th. was really excited about that. i got an 05 xb and did not realize how hard they are to find now since they sold so quick and the new 08 models look like crap IMO. yea im loving it thou. came with some nice tires and wheels rides pretty low. got a rear spoiler, bazooka sub, pioneer 6 disc head unit with 10 diff color display, interior cupholder lights, footwell lights, fog lights, and some headlights i think they are projector headlights. yea its dark blue and only had 26k miles on it and its stick. my first car i ever owned, but dont worry im not some rich spoiler kid. im financing on it my dad just paid down payment for it. im paying 240 a month on it over 5 years. but its definitely worth the hard work.

insurance, maintenence costs are "cheap" compared to other vehicles i was considering to buy. so this box was meant for me! =]]]
Well, I finally did it.
Back in December I bought a new xA, after looking at and considering it or the box. At the time I decided I just didnt want to spend the extra money, so I bought the xA, which I loved.
But last Friday, I traded it for an 05 BSP xB. I love my new box, and I got a great deal on it and on my trade(my xA). I've already put my 17's on it, my subs in, and it came with a spoiler and underdash lighting and fogs.
All I gotta do now is get some wind visors and a wider rear view mirror!
