Default Loud Acceleration in Low RPM's, Suggestions?

Hey guys,

This is my first post. First off, let me thank you for this board. It is the main reason I bought an xB about a month ago. So far I love it, but this one issue driving me mad. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't like engine noise, so a week after I bought the car I ordered some eDead v1SE and covered the whole floor, the door panels, and the hatch. After that, the drone at highway speeds is MUCH better, but it seems like the car is much louder at lower RPM's when I'm accelerating up a hill or anything like that.

It seems like the lower frequencies of acceleration have actually been enhanced by the deadener, which is annoying in city driving with lots of stop and go. Has anyone else noticed this, or have any suggestions on what to do about it?

I've thought of dampening the hood, or putting another layer of eDead on the doors to hopefully lower the resonant frequency out of the vibration range of the engine. Good ideas? Bad ideas?

Thanks!
Mike

Do you mean that I should deaden the cabin side of the firewall? I did as much as I could reach up above the pedals. I wasn't planning on ripping out the dash. Would putting eDead on the engine side of the firewall be a bad thing? I don't want it to melt.

Thanks for the reply.
