Quick question do we leave the metal shield on these bulbs or is it best to remove it?

just a quick note, if you DO take off the shield, you're high beams will be constant on. That shield deflects the light to the upper mirrors of the headlight which shine down as low beams. when you click your high beams, the shield rotates out of the way, and allows the light to hit the lower mirrors that reflect up out of the headlight, generating your high beams. it is essential to keep that shield on!!!!

Hi Everyone!

Just want to notify you all that it's been great working with you!! Starting next monday I have been moved to the wholesale department of the company and will no longer be with HIDeXtra!! My colleague here "Karen" will be taking over and she is as good in customer service as me! Thanks for your continuous support and business!!

Sorry for the inconvenience, you might have received a defective ballast or bulb, please kindly swap the ballast from the none working side to the working side and see if the problem follows the ballast or the bulb, then email me your results, order # and full name to info@hidextra.com so I can get you instructions to get a new replacement part. Thanks~

i can't do that, the ballasts are mounted solid. that would require me having to get new pieces of the 3M tape you include with your ballasts, not to mention the entire re-wiring, and dismantling of half the front of the car to get to where they are mounted.

the sizzling noise only happens every now and then, and when it does, the bulb is a different color than normal when it finally comes on (more slight purple/ deeper blue than the 5K white it is supposed to be).

maybe someone who knows HID kits well can help me decipher without me having to deconstruct the front end of my car to switch ballasts that won't stay mounted after i take them off the tape.

thanks

oh, and i should mention, that when i ordered them, i was told back-order, then like an hour later i got an e-mail saying they "found" a 5 K kit in the inventory, and it wasn't packaged like everyone else's on here was. everyone else's kit on here came in a sturdy, solid cardboard fliptop box. mine was in a flap, thin box that looks like it went through the washer, and looks like one of those ones you would find clothing in.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but unfortunately, this is our current warranty process, like all other companies they would require you to send back the actual part to be repaired or replaced, we are no different. We have already improved the process since last year from having the customer send us the part for testing replacement (turn around time 3-4 weeks) to current process which is using the destroyed picture to claim for the replacement (turn around time 4-7 business days). We did this to improve turn around time and to save postage for the customer. It's not about trust, a company policy is a company policy and I cannot change it. Thanks for your understanding~

I understand. Lately it hasn't done it. It is coming on without a problem, and the color matches the other bulb.

Now i'm stumped. LOL

damn.. I just missed the promotion lol.

Hey - can someone who has already purchased please post their pics of the bixenon kit beam pattern, in an XD? Sorry if i missed it in the thread, but all i saw were head-on shots of the cars, not any pics of the output against a wall. (closest was the i30 pics - but i'm looking specifically to see how these show up on an XD, with the oem shield in place.
