I was changing my spark plugs when a bolt broke off holding the ignition coil/plug wire down. Can't get a drill in there to extract it that way. Now my check engine light and what looks like the traction control light is on.
@aesteed77, You may try to heat that area. The coefficient for aluminum is 2.4 twice that of iron (steel). This means that an equal temperature change will produce twice as much change in the length of a aluminum as for a bolt of iron. Then slowly try to use a classic old plier tool with a nice holding shape design. What is left from that bolt should come out with no problem very fast. About the heat source. Just be sure you will use something in a way that is considered safe (this is how I do in New Jersey).
I bought a 90° drill attachment. Used a #1 screw extractor and she came right out. Glad it wasn't a nightmare situation.
