don't worry about Nebster. I heard he popped in on a Scion show here and bashed all the cars at the show. good thing I didn;t see that as he was there before I got there. besides, his Scion is gone anyway. now for the million dollar question, did you get hit by a tank? that rim is effed!

hmmm, I just saw what you said about w Kary's rims and then what you said about your own rims being cheap. I like the look of the Maxxims really, but did I see a double standard there? seems wrong. or was it karma? still that sucks.

The car that hit me was a Ford Escape.

Oh I know my rims are cheap, I admit it and have no problem saying it to other people. Since I got them last year around this same time I've been waiting for a nasty pothole to bust a rim. There is no double standard there. However, my rim held up considerably well for what happened compared to the other Konigs that were posted (forget who). These rims were a split decision right before Scion United so I got what I paid for. Either way, I'll get them again if they all fk up since they've held up very well. Also, the wheels make me happy, I really careless what people think of what I've done to my car

Thanks Winston, I've been wondering why you haven't shown up at the Fullerton meets! I went to a chiro today and I can actually move my right shoulder and neck now without any sort of pain!

Chels, you should hope they total it. With replacing the crossmember and control arm, the xD will not drive the same.

at this point it would be better to strip your parts and swap everything over to a new xD, who knows you might find a used one and be able to save some $$ that you can use on getting more parts etc...

ur car shouldn't be totalled. my 1st gen xb was only worth $13,500, and damages came out to like $10,000, but they still fixed it. i totalled up all the receipts of mods i did to my car, and it came out to 28k including the cost of the car, i guess they paid to fix my car 2 avoid me suing the person that rear ended me.

as for the car`never being the same, that is not entirely true. as ong as its a top knotch bodyshop, you should be okay.

Body shop fixing all the exterior panels is one thing, But I am talking about the fact that they need to replace the crossmember and control arm... No matter how good of a body shop they are it wont drive the same... which sucks...

Well, I talked to my claim adjuster about if my car was claimed as totaled and he said its unlikely since 1) cost of repairs is no where near the current value of the car (mods not included); 2) the shop gave a repair quote to me to sign off on.

I'm not sure if I could push my car insurance to claim it as a total loss either. I do understand though the point you're trying to make with the crossmember and control arm being replaced, that has me worried already trust me. My insurance told me that when I get the car back and it drives differently than before the accident then they'll either fix it again or.. do something else.

Thinking about it today, I'd much rather have them total my car. I really don't like the idea of having the important parts of the wheel area being replaced but... I don't think I can pressure them to claim it as a total loss. Bleh.

I think to be totaled, it has to be something like 60% of the value or even higher (probably depends on the company). So ya, sucks there. Would definitely be better if it were totaled... but not too much you can do about it if that's what they're set on. Just see what happens. And when you get it back... be super picky about it. If they say they'll fix it again, make them do it.

Sorta annoyed that my three good tires have ~15k on them and I'm getting one brand new tire. Think its possible to push for three new tires as well? Going to try asking that of my claim adjuster tomorrow.

If it doesn't drive right (or feel right) I will either attempt to get my insurance to redo the work, or try to trade it in for a new one.

Thank goodness I still have all my stock parts.

you can push them to total it. I got hit in my front bumper underneath the front headlight and i had the option to total or fix and i was scared of not finding another car, but now my tc is a pos. Once you accept the car, unless their is a part that is broken...good luck trying to get them to fix it since it "doesnt feel right/like it used to be". Insurance just sees money signs. sorry about the accident though.
in 08 my brother bought a new nissan titan and got hit about 2 months later. he sued the person for depreciation of value(I think) and won and got 4k for it. guy was drunk and took out the rear of the truck, but it wasnt totaled.
(since im new go ahead and flame me now)

Well you just said that you were given the option to fix it or total it, mine is being fixed without me having a word edge wise. The quote and papers to sign were actually faxed to my mom so maybe on the paper she signed it had something about fixing or refusing. Fk.

When I get my car back I'm going to be looking to trade it in for another car... I wish they totaled it. Really don't want it back now. :?
