Don't worry, all the bills associated with this accident are going through my insurance to her insurance and will be paid off. Still seeing a chiropractor (not your typical bone cracking one) once or twice a week for checkups. His method of adjustment is the very first vetebra in the neck at the base of the skull. It works wonderfully, but it does have the chance to slip back to the "bad" position. Think of it like this: If you try to change where the part is in your hair is (if you have one), it'll take some time before it fully accepts where you're trying to move it to.

It's really weird to be in this sort of pain when we were definitely under 30mph. Probably the angle, and me grabbing my wheel to keep the car from going in to the curb made it worse :?

thats the cervical spine, not sure if you mean C1 or C2, either one though is a dangerous place to have damage to as it is at the base of the brain/midbrain and all that implies..

glad to see your ok though, and your right... cars can be replaced!

I think its C1, not sure. There was no damage there. The theory behind adjusting C1 would be that it would stop pinching or pushing the spinal cord and relieve symptoms throughout the body. Which actually works. I went in to see him on Tuesday, after the accident, and 1 hour after going in I could actually move my shoulder, arm and neck without ANY pain.

Oh found a rim too. Go JLB Motorsports! However... it's going to take about another week to get the rim from NY to here and then to the shop. Really feel like test driving some used 09 cars for fun.

How much do you think a dealer would knock off the price of the car since it's been in an accident? That's one thing that worries me the most if I wanted to trade it in and up to a different car.

Let's see what's on your list... on my list I'm thinkin' some nice cars like a 3-series, an IS300, or a G35... or if you want to keep it a little more reasonable, maybe a SE-R, Mini, or TSX...

Not strange at all... 30 MPH is a pretty severe crash. Across the parking lot from where I work, an older woman was backing out of a space and she floored the gas pedal (my guess is that her foot got stuck or she was having some sort of heart attack, stroke, or something). She backed into a 5" diameter tree and not only totaled the car, but she was killed on the spot. She actually had multiple broken bones and was wrapped around the steering wheel. Really sad, but at the same time it was amazing how severe the accident was at something like 30 MPH in reverse.

If it was an old woman, she might've had health conditions before hitting the tree. Weak heart, osteoporosis, etc.

Winston: I want to test drive the Rabbit actually. Found out that people are swapping the front end of a Jetta or GTI on the rabbits, and they look awesome with the Jetta front end on them. I can afford the 2 door Rabbit too

Right... but without getting too graphic, the woman was mangled. She was bloody, had multiple broken bones, and one leg was through the steering wheel.

There was a really nice red Rabbit that a friend sent me, but I can't find the link now

I really like the matte silver on the Jetta bumper. Would love to test drive a two door manual buuut.. the dealer would hate me for how I'd be taking off from a dead stop.

So... I get my car back.. drive it for maybe 10 minutes and then take it back to the shop.

Before I even took it I noticed things were wrong:
For the side view mirror, who ever popped it back in to the proper place (either towtruck guy or estimator) figured it still worked ok. Yea NO. The first thing I did when I saw my car was walk up and mess with the mirror. Turns out the whole damned thing has a crack on the underside right next to the swing arm area. I pointed it out to the GM of the shop and he agreed and saw the crack at the bottom.

Another thing is when I accelerated while driving, there was a LOUD scratchy noise to the throttle. Now, BATMAN714 has agreed with me that he has a slight whistle when accelerating and I did too before this accident. I should NOT have a scratchy sound.

So basically I got my car back, wasn't too happy, started to drive home, started to cry, went back to the shop crying and stopped crying in order to tell them there were several things wrong.

After this... I honestly want a new xD.

wow, sorry to hear that... if you need help to talk to or jus' b-itch at the shop let me know... I've been around enough body shops to know what will light a fire under their *****...

btw, jus' cuz I was bored, I went and test drove the Genesis coupe... I tried the V6 and the turbo-4... and YES I drove the snot out of them... haha it was fun... although the 6 has higher numbers, the 4 was actually more fun to drive, especially while it's in boost...

Let me know, I'm itchin' to test drive somethin' else now... yes... I know... I need help... lol... (but I swear, I can quit at any time...)

I'll be b|tching at the shop tomorrow, that's for sure whether its over the phone or in person (would have to leave work early for that).

I think I'll just get a horse and buggy now. If someone hits the horse, I can get a new one easier than a new car.

To test drive the cars I want, I need to know manual better than I currently do, which isn't much. :?

Ok if I thought the Focus was bad, then the new Chevy Cobalt LT is HORRIBLE. No wonder American car companies are in the crapper... Second time in my life to drive an American car, and I actually sorta miss the Focus.. :?

Wow... sounds like a pretty crappy repair shop. I hate to hear stories like that. It's too bad, but crappy repair shops tend to stay in business, somehow. My guess is that a shop makes a choice to either do good work and get paid by people who want a good job done, or do cheap, fast work and get paid by insurance companies who are looking for cheap & fast.
