JUST AN FYI TO THOSE AFRAID TO SAND: I did not sand. I felt the same way... what if I want to go back? I put 4 coats of black and 3 coats of clear and it's been 2 months and no sign of chipping. I agree that it will chip but it is an easy fix. This way I can always remove the paint if I want. Just a heads up that you don't have to sand, but it will help the paint to stay better in the long run.

 

who's tC is this? Looking for a gold color between yelloxtc and whoever has this car. Trying to decide on a color. Thanks.

thats BlkTC's car... i already asked him bout the color and he said it was basically a custom color. he said he used a silver base coat and used gold over it. but the thing is, he didnt used rattle can spray paint, he had his buddy paint it for him with an air compressor and he just went from there. yelloxtc's color is probably the closest ive seen to the color that BlkTC has.

 

cool, thanks. Damn about the paint though, think that is the best looking color that I've seen. I've got some Enkei EMX Super 7's on the way (factory 18's) and wanted to paint them gold on my SW. Might try finding a silver primer or something. Thanks

3 or 4 layers of flat-black straight on without sanding?

 

You might get fish eyes. Just as the OP said take your time. The 1st time i did this was on my civic rims I had to do them 3 times to get it right.

Yeah, that's just about the look I was going for. Which color/brand paint did you use? Sanding method, or primer? Did you use clear coat? Any more pics before the blue? Thanks

 

just a tip to those who are painting the whole rim without any lip:

cut a template that covers just the tire. that way you don't have to tape every wheel. i cut one out since i'm repainting mine this Thursday and i think it's gonna help to reduce painting times

what would look good on a black tc....I have some curb rash anyone know of a good way to fix that before i paint the rims?
