You've got to cut the foam holders before they will fit. Once the foam has been cut to work around the bar, the stock carpet thing fits without any problems or looking funny.

hi i recently bought the part, and both corsport and ingalls has been very helpful with my situation...

i just wanted to ask, am i correct in saying the part came with 2 spacers? and they are actually necessary to install properly?

lastly i was told, that the spacers cant be bought at a local auto shop because of special width of the spacers...is this true?

curently, i have 4 washers, 2 bolts, 2 nuts, and no spacers.

yea i ended up not using some of the spacers cause the bolts were just too short. Couldn't screw everything in to the brim.

here are some pics of the foam thingy

I am trying to get longer bolts from ingalls because the ones i have now are not long enough

Just in case anyone was wondering, this modification is NOT legal under STS autocross classification.

The rule, copy/pasted--

-----------------------------------
Strut bars are permitted with all types of suspension. Strut bars
may be mounted only transversely across the car from upper
right to upper left suspension mounting point and from lower
right to lower left suspension mounting point. No other configuration
is permitted. Additional holes may be drilled for mounting
bolts. Only bolt-on attachment is permitted. Interior trim panels
may be modified to allow installation of strut bars. Holes or
slots may be no larger than necessary and may serve no other
purpose. This does not permit any modifications to the frame or unibody beyond the allowed mounting holes.

-----------------

Disappointing. Looks like I'll have to try to squeeze in a probably-not-going-to-work simple strut tower bar. I really was looking forward to using this, but ah well.

^ Doesn't that mean it qualifies?? How exactly is it not legal??

I realize that if I don't say anything and keep it covered, then it'll fly. But at the same time, it's sorta cheating

The strut bar must travel in a lateral direction from one tower to another, and the 2 bars being mounted in the rear direction would make it illegal.

I think this counts as an unauthorized unibody modification.

If someone knows better, then please give me a convincing argument, because I would trust this thing WAY more than a conventional rear strut tower.

^ Even if u don't get this, u should definitely have ur swaybar set to race. There's no point in setting it to "street".....

TRD- definitely set it to race.

Only with Hotchkis should you consider a "softer than full stiff" setting, in conjunction with whatever position you're setting the front bar.

^^ as i heard we dont really need aftermarket front sway bar.. anyone who has that they set it to the softest settings.. so... and its pain in the a$$ to install that.. so im gonna go with the rear sway bar only.
