Is there any way to mount the exhaust so that it's more flush with the rear bumper?

I'd rather not have it hanging down and out.

I have the same problem. It seems my muffler is tilted down to the right, causing the tip to hang down a bit further than I would like. I have to adjust it a bit when I put on my header.

you can adjust the left muffler support to get the muffler straight. It helps to have two people, so one can tighten the screws, and the other can look at it to make sure its straight... or you can just use a magnetic leveler.

The same problem actually happened to me, but I didnt realize it till I was done installing it. So once I go back to install the S-pipe and new mid pipe, I will adjust the muffler so it sits straight. (the tip isnt an issue for me)

If you want the tip closer to the bumper, Im sure you could go to an autozone, advance audo parts, etc and look around for an adjustable hanger, or a hanger that is shorter then the tC's.

Hey all, I also noticed that the muffler was tilted to the right, after the install. I went and fixed it today and took some pics. The muffler is straight and the exhaust tip is closer to the bumper. It looks a lot better. I also noticed a decent size exhaust leak since i put on my cc-spipe. It was coming out between where the exhaust and s-pipe meet. I put another gasket in there and tightened that bxtch down real good. Problem fixed. Another thing... no kidding, after i fixed the exhaust leak the rasp has gone down to a bare minimum, if any at all.
Here are the pics. You can see the before shots in my previous post:

i have to look at mine - im almost positive its not tilted. ....now i have to somehow remember tomorrow when its light out.

gary - yea - it might be the heat shield because its comming from so high up on the exhaust. I used to have a rattle comming from up there before the new exhaust (meaning i was almost positive it was the heat shield so i let it be). Im sure its prob something that can be fixed with minimal problem. ....the shield ... its bendable metal right ( i havent looked at it from under the car but i would assume its just a thin sheet that i can just bend away so it doesnt vibrate)?

I had to bend my heat shield by the s-pipe... Its like a tin can. I just used my hands. Be careful though, the edges are sharp.

I have an Injen CAI, Megan header, Draxas header-back exhaust and my car sounds nasty. More rasp than when I had oem header and removed axle-back. I put on the Megan header and Draxas midpipe and axleback, but left out the s-pipe for a few days and it sounded great. I added the s-pipe and now there is this loud raspy metallic sound. I am embarassed to push down too hard on the gas. I took it to a shop to check for leaks or any problems, they just told me there was so much airflow that it's going to sound bad. I have the new Draxas exhaust with the high flow cat and resonator. I also did the anti-fouler on the s-pipe. I didn't expect to have any rasp with this setup, but I was wrong. Is there anything I can do besides adding another resonator?

TTURedRaider,

You are the first person to purchase one of our new header back exhausts (that include resonator) to complain about rasp. The exhaust sounded perfect, with no rasp, on every header equipped Scion tC I have heard in person.

Did you perform the installation yourself? I saw another Scion Life member say they had some rasp. All they had to do was fix the leak they were having between the S-Pipe and the exhaust, and the rasp went away.

Please call us at your earliest convenience..

I had a shop do the install of the header and s-pipe because I didn't want to mess up the o2 sensors and I did the cat-back myself. I took it back to the shop and they tested for leaks and said there wasn't one, so I'm going to try to tighten everything up again and give it a try. I was so impressed with the sound without the s-pipe, then as soon as i had the s-pipe installed, the sound went to crap. I was almost sure there was a leak because I heard a hissing sound coming from the front of the car when I had my windows down, but I'm not sure if it is my CAI or not. The sound coming out of the muffler is a very metallic sound and the exhaust pops alot when I let off the gas. Sounds like a leak to me, but the shop said it wasn't... Maybe it's time to try a different shop.

Nothing against Draxas, they are a great company and have a great product. They have been nothing but helpful. I'm sure this is an install issue, because I have heard the clips of the tC with K&N, Alphawerks, Draxas combo and it sounds great. As soon as I figure this all out, I will update and hopefully get a sound clip.

Just installed my Draxas full exhaust with resonator, it looks and sounds awesome!! No rasp at all here!

**One note however I was not able to get the clamp that came with the kit to work on the tailpipe/muffler assembly, If I opened the clamp far enough to fit over pipe there was no way to get the nut on it. I ended up using one of my Bassani clamps from my Mustang exhaust kits**

well i finally got my exhaust fixed so its setup exactly the way i wanted it. The pipe that fits into the piece where the clamp is (right on the midpipe) its a good idea taking 1/2 inch off that so the exhaust fits right. Also - if anybody wants to be extra careful ....take your midpipe heat shield off and bang it so its 1/3 inch higher. I had a rattle sound but banging the shield up and remounting it fixed the problem. Good luck to all - this is a nice product. I also made a few changes to make it perfect to the way i wanted it.

Nice ride jester.

I thought Draxas was supposed to be re-dynoing their exhaust this week?

I've been waiting for them to re-dyno. I can't decide between this and the magnaflow.

I love this system after seeing it in action on they're website shown with they're full system with the alphawerks header. Sounds GREAT! nice and deep...kinda resembles the srt-4...jus a lil but it sounds great and i had my mind set that i am gettin it....but after hearing TTURedRaider311 nasty rasp story with him having the megan headers, im second guessing it...i have the dc sports header and i am too like everyone else trying to get a nice deep sounding exhaust without the rasp. Does anyone else have the dc header and this exhaust setup? if so hows it sound...nice and deep like the vid on they're site or is it all raspy. Sorry for all this but from what i hear from anyone with the dc header and draxas exhaust system will be the deciding factor on whether i get this exhaust or not. Thanks
