Injen Intake vs. 18inch Wheel vs. S-techs Problem(pics)
I have been having this rubbing issues on my driver side wheel for some time now, and recently took the bumper off and noticed that, there is a huge hole in my wheel welll because of it...
Whats happening is that my INJEN intake cone is pushing the wheel well about an inch or so towards the wheel, normally this wouldnt be a big deal, but because im on the s-techs(2.5 drop) its rubbing horribly, not to mention wheels are 18 x 8.5 ....Anyway the rubbing has gotten so bad that support rod coming out of the intake (cone portion) connected to the car..is acctually bent....
Ive come to two main conclusions on why this is happening...
1) Bad Install
2) Wheels are too wide...
When installing the Injen intake did anyone else notice the cone pushing the wheel well? For any help please comment...pics are below

Oh, and I'm pretty sure you installed that intake on the wrong side of the lower mount. The vibramount should go the other way, facing the front and the intake should mount there. I think that's it anyways...

The order you have it and it appears in the photos:
[ body of car ] - [ rubber piece ] - [ intake mount ] - [ nut to secure it ]
Looking at it from the view of the picture, they should be in this order:
[ nut to secure it ] - [ intake mount ] - [ rubber piece ] - [ body of car ]
That make sense?
I understand the first order but not soo much the secound how do i put the nut to secure it inbetween the intake mount and rubber peice i though the rubber piece purposely was inbetween so the cone would be pushed that inch or however so...
Thanks

This is the best pic I can find at the moment, maybe it'll help though:

its kinda hard to make out in the pic but if u had installed it that way the intake would be like at least a couple of inches away from the fender splash guard. if it was installed the way it is in the pic it would not have been close enuff to rub when u turn ur wheels.
Let us know how this works out... keep in mind you might have to loosen the middle coupling near the MAF since the pipe will probably have to rotate or something to go into the proper position.
