ATTN: Need feedback from tCs with HydraEMS
#41
To be honest with you ditching the DBW is a lot of work for no benefit really. If you plan on running huge cams (which won't be available for some time) juts upgrade your Hydra to the 2.6 when available. Most STi's retain the stock DBW setup up to 600 WHP+. No reason to change it out.

So I know the thread is old, but yesterday I placed my order for my Hydra, and it should be coming in next thursday/friday (planned it that way so I can get it on one of my days off)
I cant wait, and I got the Hydra and the wideband upgrade! I will update once I get it (with pictures)

YEah standalone FTW, hydra software is amazing.. and ride is way smoother and predictable.. so 2.6 is just for the DBW function? i'll wait to get more info first before I upgrade. Might be getting the autotune too in the future

No 2.6 adds a few features and makes the interface USB now instead of serial connection. Much easier and faster to make changes. No DBW control for at least 90 days according to Hydra which usually means 6 months.

^^ thats gonna be awesome, im using a regular serial to usb and it works on some features but I cant edit values online, hydra recommends a PCMCIA card to serial adapter but I dont have that slot on my mac. I dont think DBW function is a problem on the current hydra though so no worries bout that.

When it comes to emissions testing, how does it work when it comes to the station plugging into the OBD port? Will the Hydra read like the normal ECU and send the parameters to the emissions station's computer so you can pass? If not, then what is the solution to this?
