Nice to see this thread is still running - I just found it. Has anybody made any more breakthroughs with this idea yet? I'm particularly interested, because it's questionable as to whether my O2 sensor works at all anyway.

I haven't gotten a chance to mess around with this. But with my obd scanner hooked up it doesn't look like closed-loop vs. open-loop isn't rpm dependent. I can be at 1000 or 3000 or even 5000 rpm and in closed loop as long as I'm not over 30% throttle. However, soon as i hit the throttle over 30% no matter what revs I'm at it goes open loop.
