probably a dumb question, but couldnt you just change back the parts that they would say voided your warranty prior to bringing your car in?

not because the computer in the car has everything registered. so basicly when something has changed when it comes to engine parts and such the computer registers what changed and when it happend.

Has anyone have an aftermarket header installed along with the s/c? My friend told me that the excess heat from the aftermarket headers will melt the seals on the s/c.. any truth behind this?

I have the stock header and told the dealership to leave the heat shield off. I've been running it that way since Nov 05 with no problems. Put over 20k miles with the s/c on. If you look at Garage1217's thread, it points out that heat is most likely not an issue with the seals leaking. It will cause heat soak and rob you of some horsepower though.

i am looking at the whole kit and since i am getting an 07 the dealer.... who has never installed one b4.... will have to install it.... ugh. i am wondering if anything could actually be powder coated first.

or if it would even be worth it. hell, if it is off the car i might as well get something done to it b4 putting it in to stand out.

there is no supercharger available YET for the 2007 tCs.

i wish they would just release one already so we dont havev to keep saying it....

oh and if you do ANYTHING to the supercharger and then have problems with it, they WILL blame it on whatever you did, no matter how independant.

Say I put in a forge007. Now something goes wrong with my supercharger, but I replace the forge007 with the stock bpv before the mechanics ever see it. Will they know? I'm assuming that is a negative...and even if they could see that the car was once leaking at 5psi and is now holding 7psi, they wouldn't have a case because the car is stated to hold 7psi stock.

o yea i know the 07isnt out. i just used that as a reference pic. i am looking on getting the 07 tC within three weeks once i get back from a business trip. i figure if i get it now and the s/c comes out 5 months from now, i might be able to get it from the dealer and have some pieces prettied up b4 the install.

and doing it like Stone128, we cannot publicly endorse that type of action cause its not the right thing to do and if they find out that most people are doing that then it will just be worse for everybody, like how they dog evo and sti drivers at tracks and whatever to crap their warrenties.

I'm not saying it is the right thing to do...but technically speaking...it can be done.

so please correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm reading here 200 whp from the factory blower. Where did this number come from?

I looked on TRD's website and it just states 200 hp. "up to 25% increase in HP."

I'm thinking it's factory rated at 160hp at the crank. So 160 x 1.25 = 200 hp ?

Not trying to bust anyone's chops as I'd love to get the TRD S/C at 200 whp, but I'm not sure if that's correct.

Am I makin a mistake?

Several people have dyno'ed their supercharged cars and have gotten between 185-195 WHP with just a supercharger, nothing else. When I was at the ZPI Shootout last year, my car dyno'ed at 185whp with just the supercharger, still had the stock exhaust. TRD and Scion underrated the increase of hp that the supercharger actually puts out.

yes, you are making a mistake. the reasoning behind the numbers are wrong.
search Supercharger Dyno or similar and you can find all you need.

the package is about 50 lbs. but it includes a tapped oil pan that replaces the stock oil pan so you have to take the weight of that out of the equation

Just to give everyone an idea, my uncle told me today the new 07 supercharger will be completely different then the 05, 06 version because of all the problems. They are going to have vortech build the ENTIRE supercharger kit for the tc, and it should yield more horsepower and more tq then the current setup. Right now, vortech supplies just the supercharger, and TRD built the remaining kit to fit on the TC. This will change with the 07 to provide higher rates of reliability.

I'll take that with a grain of salt
