Default blown sub?

Whats up guys? I have a 10" cadence wild beast powered by an 800w soundstream amp and today when i was listening to my music the sub just cut out. I checked all of the fuses and the power light on the amp is on and green. When i took the sub out of the box, i tried testing it by hooking it up to the amp directly and the leds that are around the magnet lit up but there was no movement in the cone. I then tried testing it with a 9 volt battery and the same thing happened. Is my sub fried or is there a connection loose inside that ill be able to get repaired? any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

Digital Multi Meter.......voltage tester........set it to ohms and touch the + tothe + and the - to the- and it should read how much resistance is going through the coil.......

what ohms is the sub.......2 or 4 ohm.........if it is 2 then it will read 2 if 4 then it will read 4......if blown I am not sure but I thought it would read 0 as there would be no resistance......never checked a blown speaker before so I cannot be sure.

its a 4ohm sub. ill see if i can get my hands on a dmm. is there any other reason than it being blown that the leds would work and the speaker wouldnt play?

DUDE get a freaken DMM and test out the COILS ON YOUR SUB. If it READS anything besides 4ohms +/- 0,5, its a DEAD SUB. Stop making it more complicated than it is.

I'm glad were so mature. I'm only 18 years old and still am able to relpy with something civil or helpful when i can but still have the sense not to say anything when it really wont do anything for the good of the thread. Obviously you aren't able to realize this, so maybe you should take the dick out of your ___ and crawl back into the garage where you rice out your cars.

dude chill.
go get the DMM and test it out if it doesnt work go test the rca's
dont ask anymore questions till you check those two out.
then and only then after you test those two theories try something else and ask another question.
he wasnt being a dick but you need to test something before you keep asking a million questions, were not in the freaking car with you so you asking all these questions without testing the sub isnt really gonna help.
if you think were being dicks go to roe or caraudioforum.com and ask on there

i was done asking questions until i tested those two things. the fact of the matter is, he started off the thread with the post "the LEDS are blown" which i didnt say anything about. The only one being a dick is him. I digress.
