ahh. good call. I didn't know what you meant by cutting the foam..it blends in with everything else so I thought it was plastic. Might be an easier fix than I thought

Went to Home Depot to get the key cut, got the cartridge for the 35R. But when they cut my key it came out all jacked up. Seemed like my key was worn out or something or the machine was jacked up, who knows. Ran my key 3 times with two different machines, still an epic failure. Luckily I bought 2, I'll try my luck again at a different home depot.

Try Lowe's if there's one by you. I got mine cut there for free and it came out great off the first try

Went to Lowes by my pad, and it cut the key fine. I had them run the key that Home Depot jacked up, but it was useless. If anyone jacks up the housing, I'll buy the blank key off you. Let me know...

( im unsure why its so hard for us to get these keys cut- is it just cuz we're going to home depot for free?)

My Lowes wouldnt cut the keys. Tried twice already and still nothing. Same with Home Depot. Might have to find a local locksmith

She wouldn't cut it for me at first. I just told her you arent responsible for screwing the new or old key up. But they did tell me no at first, be persistent.

Just ordered from __________... 'out the door' for $19.65. Good stuff.

So, the consensus is that Lowe's does the best key cutting? I'm thinking it may be a good idea to just go to a locksmith and pay a few bucks, just to be safe...

My ace hardware cut my key pretty good, I had to take the actual key out of the fob though for them to cut it properly. Maybe that's why some of the home depot guys are messing things up? I know it wasn't fitting in the machine properly with the fob on there.

i got mine cut at the dealership, it is a different type of machine they use to cut keys, the key go in a slot like an ignition, and it cuts it that way one side at a time. took 2 times to get it cut exactly right but i got it for free.

"Took two times" as in, they fudged one key and you had to buy another one? Or they ran it through the machine, it didn't work, so they ran it through again?
