But when it comes down to it, the noise of the engine and the music drown it all out. It's just when I'm on the phone when it annoys me

I feel you. It's a high pitched chirping noise right? I experience that and a rattling with that panel under the left side of the steering wheel on the panel under the mirror controls.

Did you install the Doc. I. fender panel? It's supposed to prevent movement of the intake, but, ironically, the panel itself made a lot of noise when I installed it. I found the plastic would rattle against the metal frame in one area, creating a rattle when the engine was idling. Easily fixed by putting some foam tape between the plastic and the metal. The intake itself can also rattle if you haven't tightened the mounts enough, or if the mounts are broken.
I did install the little rubber strip that came with the intake around the metal frame, but I will have to try the foam tape. Thanks.

I actually didn't install that strip. It drove my crazy trying to get it to fit, so I just threw it in the trash.

I couldn't get it to fit either, so I cut it in 2 pieces and put one on the top and the other on the bottom, worked for me

Yea, it was a major pain.. but I figured it would rattle extremelly loud if I didn't just grin and bare it and take my time (which was forever) to get it on there. Any certain place you have to buy this foam tape? Never seen it thats why I'm asking. lol

there is a tsb on mitchell about the various rattles the tc has. the daeler knows ho to fix them. all they use is felt. my hatch rattles and also the sun roof cover. all cars make noise inside. the best fix i've found is the good old radio.

I thought my car rattled until I went and drove in a Jimmy

my hatch rattles but 6 inch foam pads have stopped that, my cluster rattles but only when it's below freezing. other than that on these wonderful Michigan what you call roads my car actually rides with no rattles at all. I be lucky

I'm happy with the rattles since if I sold the car today would still retain 60% of it's VALUE !!!! and this is through Intellaprice the biggest used car market rip out their today.

My 06 tc rattle lick two gerbils wearing armor getting it on in a tin can while trying to sing the national anthem and trying to do a high dive from my hatch to the floor board.
