Should have mine next week if things go well. They are going to install the spoiler and ground effects kit and they said that might take an extra day or so. Its been hard waiting but oddly this week went by really fast, maybe because Ive been having a lot of fun not being at work. Oh well time to wait some more.

Well, i went into order my tC last friday. At first they told me they only had one car onethe lot that couldnt be sold. then the guy comes out and says he has great news there is another car and i can buy the car out front(which had a bunch of accessories i didnt want). so i ask to test drive it... he comes back and says he has bad news, that turned out to really be the ONLY car on the lot, and he said 3 TO 4 MONTHS for a new one, but 2 TO 3 WEEKS for a manual, so i went with the manual. im really really hoping this guys got his facts straight, but after going through all that garbage i got very nervous, OH YEAH !! and when he asked me what color i said black or FLINT MICA, and he says to me... WHATS FLINT MICA??? i almost lost it. outrageous, how does a car salesman not even know the names of the cars colors that hes selling??!!

Hey, just something to chew on... Mine's been at the dealership for roughly two and a half weeks...mostly waiting for commercially available TRD stuff to get shipped to the dealership from their supplier (the last piece arrived late yesterday).

Sooooo...even if your salesman rocks as moriarty and his partner Damon do, you may be held back by supply chain woes.

On the other hand, just after the car physically arrived, I'd checked with McGeorge parts, and they'd told me that they had the parts in stock and shipping it to CA should take roughly four days. I mostly held off so as not to complicate matters, as things were already in motion through the dealership.

According to the moriarty, though, as long as the installation is done by the dealership, the stuff will be under the relevant warranty(s).

So the lesson here? Find out what you can about your dealership's stock and supply chain for TRD parts. Then, if your salesman/dealership is cool with just doing installation for parts that you get independently, give serious consideration to ordering them, getting them to the dealership, and having them install them (all assuming warranty coverage is a concern for you, as it is for me).

If I'd have done that, I could probably have shaved a week or or more from my waiting time...and the parts would have cost $200-$300 less (including shipping costs from McGeorge).

So again, no recriminations against moriarty or maita scion, just...if time is a big factor...be aware that supply chain delays can have a big impact, and the dealership may not be the best channel.

Yeah.. so the NB 5spd I was supposed to pick up yesterday got sold to someone else. Apparently my salesman didn't log into the inventory properly to attach my name to that car, so it was sold to someone else.

Needless to say, I'm ____ed. I've been borrowing cars for the past month and a half, and I can't keep doing that. I told him that I wanted a loaner/rental/used car to get me to work and whatnot until the NB car I was supposed to have came in. That was on Friday... he told me he would call me Saturday.

Guess who didn't call?

I would just go to the dealership in Grand Rapids, but the guy I talked to there didn't even know they dropped the IIP for the NB for 2006... yeah, not dealing with those idiots.

Great job Spartan Scion of Lansing... ugh!

ALLLLLLLLL-right-eeeee!!!
Yup! So I picked the car up on Saturday, and finally met moriarty and his partner, D...(I don't remember moriarty mentioning his name, so in case D'd prefer it stay relatively anonymous, I'll just use that)! They're just as cool and helpful in person as they are online and on the phone.

When I got there, D points out the car, and says, "There's your car." And I was struck again with how nice the tC looks, magnified by the "wow, that's gonna be mine" feeling.

Also, the iPod connection didn't work, initially, but moriarty and D found the issues to check for, and sicced a technician on it. More evidence on how those guys rock.

The drive home was great! what a neat feelin'. This is my first new car purchase, and it's maybe the first car I consider "all mine". Most of the way home, I'd come back to, wow, this is mine! Anyway, so I was trying to vary my speed on the way home... a couple of songs at 60 mph, then 70, then 80, then back down--with drifting sometimes, and then once or twice creeping up to a peak at 90 before immediately letting it slow itself down after that.

The TRD shocks/struts/springs combination was a little stiffer than I'm used to, but I'm fine with that.

Today, I took her to Stinson Beach, which involves a lot of twisty road going up one side of minor mountains/big hills, and down the other side. Now, I'm not skilled twisty-driver, but yeah, that was tons of fun, and she stuck it all...though my meager skills probably can't get her anywhere near her limits yet.

Some things I'm noticing:
1) The iPod-radio, at least, has automatic volume adjustment for ambient noise levels! So when you have the windows and/or sunroof open, it compensates for the added noise by turning itself up. It also adjusts for road noise, say, in highway vs. city driving. The feature works well, at least from all my driving today!

3) The iPod upgrade is great! Being able to control the ipod from the steering wheel and the head unit is really nice. Er...it would sometimes be useful to pause the song as it's playing, but I can't seem to find a way to do that. Am I missing something?

4) When parking, I get a lot closer to curbs than I realize I am... not sure what that's about...maybe 'cause the bottom of the window is a lot higher on my body than when I'm driving the volvo (88 240 DL)? Maybe it's fatter than the volvo, too, but it doesn't seem significantly different.

5) There's a minor rattle going on somewhere behind the driver, I think... I can't be sure yet that it's there, or where it is, though...'cause I've been having too much fun with driving, windows/sunroof open, radio goin....

6) The sunroof doesn't open quite as I expect it to... It seems to stop on its own partway along opening or closing, even when I'm holding the button down... and once or twice, I seem to have managed somehow to get it to open most of the way kind of automatically, by pushing the switch somehow and letting go. I skimmed through the manual, though, just in case it is supposed to do that, but I didn't see a section about the sunroof...maybe I simply missed it?
EDIT: I found around yoursciontc.com forums that it's supposed to have stops in it. Plus a tC manual page number to refer to (page 26). I'll have to go re-look.

So there it is, the report from the end of day 2 with the new tC.

Oh, when I got it, it had about 20 miles on it. Now it has about 320.
:-)

got my BSP '06 3 days ago and it has 600 miles on it already =P. anyway I noticed the rattling in the back as well, seems that one was from the license plate and one from where the seat belt comes out of the pillar. both rattled only when i had the bass all the way up though (no sub, SSP set to feel/xA mode)
