okay, the dealer contacted me saying that the tC 06 is comming in in 4 weeks, therefore i can order my scion, im going to write my 500 dollar check and march up into the dealer! GG

Exactly! That's why 95% of our customers didn't get the 6 disc and I assume it is why they are being discontinued.

I think it's a nice option nonetheless. With a 6 disc you could have 1 CD for each type of music, and put like 100-200 songs on each one. This way when you are driving you could switch to a different CD and listen to a completely different mini-library.

Concerning the 6 disc issue (got this in an email from a different dealer than the one I ordered from):

GST (Gulf States Toyota) is our distributor and when Scions first came out in 05, the dealerships had the option of putting in 6-Disc changers at the port (through GST) or installing them at the dealerships. Like my store, alot of Scion stores decided to install 6-Disc changers at the dealership, leaving GST with tons and tons of these 6-Disc Changers.

Well, by the end of the model year (from 05 tC - 06 tC), GST was left with a whole warehouse full of something like 5,000 6-CD changers. Not wanting to take a loss, they marked down the 6-Disc price from $395 to $205. Instead of asking the dealers to buy them, they sort of boycotted us. What they did was - they took all Scions coming in from Japan with the single-CD player and replaced it with the 6-CD. Without asking the dealers for approval, they forced a higher window sticker increase of $205. So, now all Scions will have the 6-Disc CD changer, increasing their price by $205.

I also emailed one more dealership about this but I haven't heard from them yet. And the mp3 player is the exact reason why I didn't want to upgrade to a 6 disc. I mean, I could just put 6 CD's on one disc and bam! My own little CD changer.

Hey, if you still have that e-mail, I would send notify toyota corporate (I'm assuming that toyota still has a little bit of control over the different entities that sell its cars) and tell them have the ugly conspiracy that GST is planning. It is not our problem that they had not forcasted demand properly and we shouldn't have to pay for it. This is NOT the scion way.

If I ordered a pizza, and I don't want pineapples on it, then that means no pineapples. Should SET or GST listen to Toyota? I mean, it seems customization is the very basis of this car, and they are taking it away from us consumers.

i agree with you on that one. from what i understand the ipod is tC only.. the X cars will still rock the six-disc.

Good news and bad news...

Good news: The Nautical Blue has arrived! I just delivered it and its AWESOME! It's a deeper blue than the Indigo, almost a midnight shade and it looks terrific.

Bad news: Digital camera is broken

I'll do my best to post when the new one comes in in a couple of days.

now i dunno how ipod works, but can you set up folders? if you can set up folders you can have mini libraries which is far superior than 6 cd's

but n e way, i convinced my dad to fork out 5k, GG, this weekend is probably the weekend i'll go order it if not the next after the next paycheck, i keep holding off for some reason i dunno why T_T i guess im just nervous

oh yeah, i was wondering if the 06 model fixed minor concerns that the 04/05 had. Im sure there were some problems that needed to be addressed to, i don't think scion has said anything, or so far i haven't found anything

so i need some people with scion connection to hunt down some fixes

yea i'm pretty positive about the folders (hell my 1gig gym mp3 player can do folders). but i know you can create playlists, kinda like in winamp, where you load up a playlist and it will play a selected number of files in that playlist...

I dont know if you guys know this or not but the build your own option at Scion.com has nautical blue and the silver color as options now. If you want to see what it looks like on their website.... sorry if you guys already knew... i just found out...

Yeah color me Jealous.

Ask any dealer that knows what is going on, like Moriarty. They addressed the various rattles. And I have also seen some folsk here have come electrical problems as well. But I am not sure if that was a "flaw" or just a few lemons in the bunch. Also have not heard any official word on the wind thingy on the sunroof shattering.

I found that you can also use CD-RW discs. This way you don't actually loose a blank disc. Get tired of the 160+ songs on there...format it...and go again with something new! Great stuff!

and yet another reason why i love my 05. that really sucks for people who would like a cd changer option and don't have an ipod. i know of enough people that bought the 6 disc changer in 05. not everyone did, but enough to make it a worthwhile option to offer again for the 06s. once again i think scion screwed up. they are really on a roll lately.
