Well you asked why don't your bulbs have tabs smart guy. And I don't know what TABS your talking about because I had a 1stgen(9006) and this 2ndgen(H11)..
both HID bulbs look the same in terms of locking mechanisms(plastic backing the comes in contact with housing).. just different lengths on glass and filament placement.

Hmmm I replaced the bulbs on my girls yaris and they had three tabs that locked into place with a clip. I thought I remembered them being 9006 but I guess I'm mistaken.

Whoa, slow down now, no need to start getting hostile. Like what some have said about having no $$ for a proper retro on the TC2, I don't have the $$ for a $19000+ car, to demonstrate for all ya. Spend $300 for a retro and show you guys, or help donate $19000 and I can show you guys, which would you choose? (seems like most opt the 'go cheaper, save $$' option)

But I do have a TC1 and I enjoy my retro for roughly $200.

My suggestion was for anyone out there who does have a TC2 and is generous, caring, and friendly enough to demonstrate and help share any knowledge about the performance of the TC2 projectors (There is a thread already on the TC1 projectors if you ever choose to visit TC1 area here).

That's all. No offense to those who enjoy their HID kits, but it's a word of suggestion to actually see if what you are using was worth the $ by converting to something that was not originally designed for the vehicle's proper function of the headlights.

I'd assume you can just show us pics of your setup since a retrofit on our Gen TC would produce similar results if we used a similar. I'm curious as to what your cutoff is like. What projectors do you have?

I could be to blame for being one of the first to respond to the whole "HIDs behind stock lenses suck" post. But we should go ahead and relax with this. I saw another thread go completely haywire because of that and it needed to get deleted by the mods. I'm sorry for any part I shared in this and let's all just try to remain helpful.

Same weather here on the east coast! I'm not complaining though. I won't have any complaints if I don't see a single snowflake this winter.

Just for some closure, I just got my replacement bulbs from TheRetrofitSource. I spent literally an hour trying to get the DDM tuning ones in, they just didn't fit. I'm not sure if they sent the wrong ones or they were just crap. The TRS bulbs slid right in like... well. They went in nice. They look perfect. Worth the extra $$$.

OK after reading the whole thread, there's something in a Tad confused about. Some say all you need to do is buy the kit and no relays or whatnot. I know that I read with the 35 there's no need for anything else but is this the sane for the 55? I have ddm on my other car but it was so long go so I don't know the exact details. I'm literally at the order screen. o_O

On a 35 youll be fine without relays but on a 55 youll prob be better off using a relay to be on the safe side. Currently im running 35w headlights without relay and 35 in fogs with a relay

I have had my 55s in without a relay for just under a year and I have not had ONE issue with them firing.

I just did 6k and they are much closer to white than the 8ks i had but their still seems to be a faint blue tint. More so when looking at the projector lens than the light i actually see on the road.

QUICK BUMP!! ive been searching forums and havent found a definitive answer. I want to install my HID headlights and pick up some fogs and make em HID.

1.) id like to match my HID's is it the same product as the heads?
2.) what extra do i need with it?
3.) is there a DIY HID thread?

any help is appreciated, thank you!
