Are you sure you read through this thread? Because the answers have definitely been covered.

Yes, the fogs are the same product. If you are running multiple installations, you may want to consider a relay harness for the second pair. And there is not a DIY thread because it is too easy of a process. You connect the new HID lights to the included ballast. And then connect your ballast to the OEM headlight connector. Check this thread for recommended ballast mounting locations.

any help is appreciated, thank you!
Just figure out which bulb size you need and get the appropriate bulb size for HID. However, I've read that you may need a relay to run a second HID set because too much power will be drawn from the main harness.

I ordered HIDeXtra 35w 5000k and got these...they look like 8000K. They did send me free replacement bulbs that were not as blue, which are closer to what I originally wanted. I'll have to update later with another pic to get your opinions...

I have heard from a few people that their HIDExtra lights are coming out way blue. DDM seems to have a more consistent color.

Question!! (For those HID/retrofit gurus)

I am considering going with sets of Morimoto 3Five bulbs because I want good and accurate color/output. Also, these seem like the only good bulbs for H11 applications I can find at theretrofitsource.

How would these work with the 55w DDM ballasts I already have?

Part of me says that it shouldn't be an issue because I'm pretty sure DDM uses the same bulbs for their 35w and 55w kits. I've had my 55w kit installed for over a year now with no issues so maybe it will be fine?

If you have a 55W ballast and a 35W bulb, then your bulb will not produce any extra light than a 35W kit. In fact, it will produce slightly less and will go out much quicker. If you have a 55W ballast and a 55W bulb, you will get the most light output possible and will last for a very long time.

You can use a 35W bulb with a 55W ballast, but it is very bad for the bulb.

Now is that knowledge that you can cite? Or just what your common sense is telling you?

35W and 55W DDM Tuning HID Kits have the same bulb.

It's on their website for the HID bulb replacement.

I've read of many people mix and matching bulbs and ballasts purchased from various sources with no problems. Go for it Steve!

Yea the refrence for my citing is me lol I sell and install HID kits, that's my job. If you buy a cheap 55W hid kit online it will most likely come with 55W ballasts and 35W bulbs. You can buy 55W bulbs seperate, but they cost like $25-$30 for a set of bulbs.

DDM tuning sells their 55W kits as 55W ballasts and 35W bulbs. There's a reason we don't sell those haha
