HID Help Thread
Ok guys, I need some help!
I finally broke down and ordered some HID's from DDM. I am a little confused though.
Odviously, the first pic is the connection between the bulb and balast, np there:

But wtf is this wire for?

And it runs through the rubber gromet as shown:

I know Bigsteve pulled that extra wire out, but I would have to cut mine off because it has conectors at both ends. Do I need this wire? It seems like its an extention for the OEM connector to balast, which could be useful, but it is currently not allowing the rubber gromet to do its job...

Yeah the rubber is useless to ours. I could have cut it off and everything would be fine. You can cut it off. That way you just have a line from the OEM to the ballast, and from the ballast to the bulb. Nothing else.
Steve.... I need you again! OK, so on the ballast, where you would plug in the OEM wire, the pins are different; as in the ballast pins are far apart, and the OEM female end is made for pins closer together.
Ok not that big a deal, I will just use the wire it came with. Nothing, they are not coming on. And OMG is that passenger side a PITA to get in the socket.
Also: no, I did not touch the bulbs...

Hey Guys I got my DDM 35w 5000k kit in today and put it in. First let me say everyone here is totally correct when they say the passanger side is a Bi**H to install. Take a beer out and take your time you will get frustrated. That said the kit looks great here are some pics.

Nice job man. I highly recommend visiting page 5 of this thread and looking at Enzie's ballast placements. They are super clean and out of the way. I have since moved my ballasts to those locations.
Some 20ft distance wall shots? Anyone can take pics of their headlights.... does anyone not really care about actual usable output?! LOL.
The reason you hear some "hummm" noise from your ballasts is cuz it's a cheap ballast, the louder it is, the more cheap it is. I run a VVME kit and it does no humming like my other HID kit I got on ebay for $33... super buzz.

LOL omg saw the light output on one of the pages, horrible. I don't know how I drove with my 08 OEMs on HID PNP kit for 1 year
Not sure if a lot of you TC2 owners actually mod that squirrel finder "the box of glare" above the cut off line. but I didn't mod it for awhile and eventually got pulled over for it, but talked my way out of a warning and possible ticket.
Once modded it does make a decent projector, but the hot spot of these projectors are towards the middle of the road, with 8-10ft of foreground that isn't lit up.
One picture makes these TC2 projectors look like crappy ebay halo headlights lol.
If you can, retrofit and you will never look back again.....

Obviously spending lots of time and money on a retrofit that uses top of the line lenses straight out if luxury cars will look great compared to our stock halogen projectors.
I (and most people here) are part of the "get it done as cheap as possible" demographic. If we werent, we would probably not be driving tCs. For the 50 bucks I spent on a simple DDM kit, I have achieved a look and visibility that is far enhanced from stock.
