ZeroEyeQueue-Update 7/23/2012 MAF Setup to Speed Density
How do you like the TRD spring?
I know you said you wanted to upgrade to coilover, but I have been looking to get springs and its between the TRD and S-Tech… but I might just wait for Greddy's coilover Type S suspension.
Whats are your plans for coilovers?

The TRD Springs are nice. They give a nice ride height and have been tested out by a couple members on here at the track
I may still go to coilovers but am waiting for more reviews on Tein's, Greddy's, Tanabe's and Standard's coilover models. I'd like something aggressive for the track but with a soft setting appropriate for daily driving. I always hear good things about Tein SS soft setting. A couple people I know say that the softest setting is almost that of a BMW 3 Series ride quality. But, I have yet to feel it for myself.

Thank you! Still a long ways to go. After the LSD, Suspension stuff, and mounts, I'll be looking into some transmission upgrades. I need to get on the phone with GReddy, and World Racing this week and ask what they did to beef up their trans.
The power is nice, but I'd like some stability with that power. In May, I'll be ordering either the rods and pistons Kareem told me about (I think they're JE) or GReddy's pistons and rods if they decide to go on with production ones. I'm told all the internals are pretty much one-offs.
Also, congrats to you for having a brand new car at 16! I was happy if all 4 cylinders fired in the car I had at 16.
Hehe, thanks for the kind words, P! I've learned a lot from PapaB's, 1st's, Wellesley's, pickel's, 2tCornot2tc's, and your posts. When I was a lurker (still a lurker), I pretty much based my decision for buying the car off of those posts while I was looking to get rid of the Prius.
Of all the cars I've owned, even the STi, the tC2 is my favorite. It's the underdog of the current import world, and I like showing people what they can do. (Even though I haven't really been to an official track day, heh.)

For me, STi's have a reputation for being quick and powerful. Which is nice, but I like it when I can surprise people and myself with something that most know don't put much down. The reactions are priceless.
Don't know that I could ever buy another Ford. Words cannot describe just how much I loath and despise my wife's Escape. Only Ford I even like the styling on is the F-150 Raptor...
Car is in the shop. LSD, Torque Solution Front Engine Mount, TRD Front Strut Tower Brace, Vibrant 4" Turbo Inlet w/ new dry cone filter, Titanium Turbo Shield, Titanium Heat Wrap for Turbo Manifold and Downpipe, and a Vibrant Vacuum Manifold being put in. Work will be done Monday or Tuesday. I'll have pictures up soon after.
At the moment I can't afford new drag wheels and slicks for the strip. They will have to wait til I pay off some bills.

Wow, dude I can't wait to see it! By far the sickest and fastest TC2 around.
BTW i have had my car for a month and I want to start doing alot to it. What Should be one of my first upgrades? I just got TRD springs, but I was thinking exhaust (Greddy or descendant) or intake. Im planning on turbo but not for a while till I can afford it. You are like the modding god and I totally want your input haha.

Thanks, KiinGx2! If you plan on doing F/I eventually, I would do suspension mods first. As for exhaust, the GReddy is good for F/I, since the piping diameter is slightly wider than the other companies. It's pricey, though.
Wheels, sways, strut tower brace, short shifter and cable bushings are some of the things that aren't as costly as F/I and easier to put on. If you're going F/I, wait on the intake since you won't end up using one a kit is on.
Edit: it said "slight toaster" where I meant to say slightly wider.

Ok, so should I get sways and a strut before the greddy? I know the greddy is crazy expensive and after seeing yours with the TI-C I won't buy it without that add on but the only good thing is I live right next to the greddy wharehouse
. Thanks for all your help btw.
. Thanks for all your help btw.
Performance wise, I would do sways, struts, twm short shifter and cable bushings, and a big brake kit for the fronts. After seeing 1stOne's lap videos and reading his posts, the Stop Tech designed TRD BBK is something I'm lacking and probably really need. Though, of all those parts, they are the most expensive, but well worth the price. Sadly, they were not available when I purchased my tC2.
In the end, it really depends what you want to do with your car. Mine is a daily driven, weekend drag strip/lapping/Autox project. And the only time I've gone to a track, I didn't record any times. If you're building for power, F/I all the way, good size turbo, large down pipe and exhaust piping, and build the drivetrain and transmission to compensate for the increase in power.
Lapping or AutoX? The mods stated above will do nicely and won't put you in the hole for too much. And, you'll definitely notice the difference in drivability.
I would suggest doing what most people do on here. Take it to the track with what you have. Get to know your car and get comfortable with your driving style and see what you can improve on. Hone those skills! Get a lot of ride alongs from some veterans. Add parts to compliment your driving. Don't just add parts because they exist (I should probably take my own advice). The more you build your suspension and the rigidity of your car, the rougher your daily driving experience gets.
If you want to build for looks, there are a ton of great ideas from people on this forum. A nice set of wheels goes a long way. Lip kits! Carbon Fiber! Whatever you like. Just make sure YOU like it and screw everyone else who doesn't. It's your car, make it your own.

Haha well it is my daily driver and just like you auto x if possible on weekends or when I'm free to haha. So sways and strut will make it a rougher drive? I'm going to pick up the TWW short shifter and bushings for sure but basically its between sways and strut or greddy I just wish I could get everything at once haha can only dream I guess... as for some wheels, any recommendations on a budget haha?
