Default Raising the Drivers seat?

My mother just bought a new Xb and she wants to raise the drivers seat an inch or so. Any thoughts or ideas would be great!

TIA

i raised up the front of mine so it wasnt so flat.
my buddy cut aluminum rod and drilled through it, we used about an inch spacer and longer bolts...raising the back would be alot harder..youd need to have brackets built

Default Seat

Those are fair suggestions. How about safer btter. How about retrofitting power seats?

It is my mom I want a safe solution.

honestly i think the easist, safest way.... would be a seat cushion... every thing else such as longer bolts and spacers would work too but i think a cushion would be the most comfortable for her and safe.... if looks are a concern.. find some nice looking seat covers and put them on... but the cushion under so you cant really tell ;)

power seats are possible i guess.. just dont know how much bracket modding you'd have to do... or wire running to power them

not to mention the seat will break down a bit after some use.... i know for me going between my driver seat and passenger theres about 1inch difference in height now....

Unfortunately, altering the seats on an xB turns into major surgery rather quickly. Not like my former ride, the ancient Volvo, which had three tier adjusters under the seats for height and tilt...

One of those luxury car vs economy car deals, apparently.

The seat cushion idea seems smart, unless you're really into it all...

I have a few on the workbench at home, and will check for ya. keep in mind that you can only raise the seat about an inch or so in the front. Any taller than that, and the bolts don't want to thread in the holes - the angle produced by te bracket pulls them back too much.

If you have a Lowe's Home Improvement store near you (or any good hardware store)
Get bolts M10- 1.25 X 40 (or 50) Metric fine pitch. ( 10mm diameter X 40 mm long).
Hillman Hex Cap Screw Part # 883204 at Lowe's
This size allows 6-8 washers to be added under the front seat attach points.
