Windows frozen shut..
I have an intermittent problem with this and visited the dealer before I reached 36,000 miles. Of course it was afternoon and above freezing at the time, but the shop said they dismantled the inside of the driver door and found no problem. It's not directly related to precipitation, but I suspect the dew point might have something to do with it since it happened this morning and was nearly freezing. (dashboard thermometer was 34) I did some searching and found a post somewhere to try cleaning the windows with Rain-X, which I did. Today I stuck my fingertip between the gasket and the glass and ran it all the way across to confirm there was no ice there. I find this particularly annoying because I leave for work while it's still dark and usually get drive-thru coffee and/or visit the ATM only to have this happen. When I press the button, I hear the window motor running and it moves about a millimeter and then stops. I've opened the door and slammed it shut a few times, thinking it might break up any ice in moving parts. Does anyone else have this problem in the winter? I am looking for practical suggestions.
Choosing what subforum to put this in was like playing Cards Against Humanity, so I had to guess which one was the best. If the admin wants to relocate it, no surprise.

Barring a Car Window Motor/Regulator Assembly (mechanical) problem, your problem maybe due to ice / cold condition causing the windows to stick.
I would try to Mix together two parts rubbing alcohol and one part water in a spray bottle. Hit all 4 windows to see if it 'unsticks' it.
Another Winter tip: Spray over the windshield in the evening when it is ice-free to prevent ice from forming overnight.
The mixture will also instantly remove ice from a windshield and can be used in a pinch if your windshield is icy in the morning after an unexpected drop in temperature.
Use this mixture to wipe down the inside of your windshield to also prevent the glass from fogging up.
Hope this helps,
MR LUV

For what it's worth, the repair manual says the "suspected areas" for your symptom are:
1. GAUGE FUSE
2. POWER RELAY
3. IGNITION SWITCH
4. WIRE HARNESS
That said, I like LUV's de-ice angle. Toyota's docs appear to be more broken part(s) related than weather gremlins.

The fact that it is happening with all four window would lead me to believe that it's not a mechanical issue. I'm betting that there is a problem with the window switch in the driver's door, or as already suggested a ground issue. Have you tried using one of the other door window switches to see if they work properly and it's only from the driver's door switches.
Also remember that even if you are over 36K miles now, if you reported the original issue prior to 36K they have to look at it as an "On-Going Issue". If they are a
decent dealer they will take care of you, especially now that it is all 4 windows. If the dealer shines you on call Toyota/Scion Customer Service to be transferred to warranty complaints
who are pretty good about making customer happy and it sounds like you have an honest issue.
