Actually we are at 9 people so far... By the list on Post#1

Even though we have not reach the 10 people, Richard agreed to produce 1 final unit. As the first complaint of everybody is that nobody knows how the manifold will look...

This final unit will be put to test so every body can see how performs. At that time probably more people will decide to jump in.

So I believe the only list we have is the one on the first post of this thread.

As indicated by Castrex, the list is posted on page 1. As for cams, I may be having a set ground for the Yaris motor first-but all productionvehilces will benefit from wilder cam timing. factory cam timing is mild to meet a specific power, emissions and reliability goal-max power is never the ultimate design.

Richard, any ETA yet for the first xD Manifold?

Also, what are your thoughts in regards to custom ECU tuning for this car?

I know that your manifold it's been designed to work on a stock ECU. But wouldn't some custom tuning (Piggback, re-flash ) net some more power on this engine?

I'm thinking about a CAI + your Intake Manifold + header + full custom exhaust + lightweight pulleys... and how to make the most out of it....
I know these econo cars come tuned to run on the lowest octane fuels... so with the add of all the bolt on parts, premium fuel and some tuning... what do you think it could be expected?

Are you planning on conducting any kind of testings like these for your book?

Just trying to grab a little bit of your knowledge!

If the Xd motor was tuned to allow running on 87 octane-there is likely extra power to be had from tuning. According to my air/fuel meter, the factory fuel curve uis pretty good-may only be a few extra hp from additional but likey some power from ignition timing and/or cam timing (adjusting VVTI), but so far the Toyota ECU is proven to be pretty hack proff and none of the codes have been leaked out. Contrary to popualr belief, people don't hack the factory ECUs-they get inside help-that is the only way it is posible.

No photos of prototype intake-only when the first production piece is completed-I jsut got off the phone with AEM and the FIC for the Xd is ready for action-I gave them my car for development. We will run a turbo on my Xd after intake is complete!

dang, was hoping you had some of the incomplete production piece. the wait is killing me, lol. will the FIC be able to help much on a N/A engine?

Cool..! You should also try to experiment with the FIC on a NA set up. Like discussed on the other posts earlier today.

Some premium fuel + more timing + Intake and exhaust. So the people NOT pursuing Force Induction can have an idea of the possible benefits of a custom tune.

Also, if I remember correctly the FIC was not playing very nice along with the Yaris ECU. Do you expect it will be different on the xD?

I think we have taken care of FIC issues with yaris and the system ran well on the Xd already.

Default UPDATE

UPDATE...

I received an email this morning from ZEFOXE, the member who started this thread and was keeping track of the official list.
Sadly he suffer of some unexpected financial problem that hit his Family pretty bad and left him in no position to continue on the list. As matter of fact doesn't seems like he will be posting much at all for a while.

He asked me to apologize with Richard and the group for dropping out.
But hey, Family is always first!

So in order not to start a new thread I will continue to keep track and update the official list from the post#2 of this thread!!

Let's keep pushing for this to happen!

HEY RICHARD!!

Any Updates??

I know the Yaris folks are keeping you really busy but we are dying for some Pictures here as well...! So we can start attracting more interest!!

dang, thats sad to hear... hopefully he and is family are okay! im pretty sure it wont be hard at all to find another buyer for the last 2 intake manifolds, espeically once pictures and results from the dyno come out. i'd be buying two myself if i had another xD to install it on, lol. anyway, hopefully everything works out okay for him, maybe he could put a small deposit down and richard would hold one for him, since these are limited production.

so who is gonna grab up manifold #1? if no ones got dibs on it, ill gladly give up my #7 for it

The list is on post#2 of this thread. It has been put together on a first come first served basis.

Tough, I would say that the final number assignment will not be set on stone until we actually submit any payment. At that time we can determine the actual numbers! if at that moment the person on the #2 does not care about the number and just wants a manifold, we can have the list revised. Some folks called dibs on an specif number if they did it first than anyone else, that should be respected.

At the end I just want to see that manifold under my hood!

I'm still undecided if I will powder coat it black or if I'll go the polished route...

yeah, nevermind, too much of a hassle, ill stick with my #7 i had requested in the original list.

yeah, there is a powdercoating place near my house, and i am VERY tempted to powdercoat it black. i have no idea how much it would cost to do that, but it would look pretty awesome black, and help protect it a little bit. it may also prevent you from getting a fix-it ticket because it would probably look pretty stock with the engine cover installed.

the place near my shop will normally do it for about 20-50 depending on the size and if they are busy. so not much

a girl that needs an explination?? wow, thats unheard of, lol. id wait till you get there, and then say something on the order of, "oh, i just remembered, there is this shop here in vegas that i want to see... id think youd like it too, they have really neat cars and stuff, and its free to get in."
