I think someone is jerkin your chain buddy...
He can't install mine without making the jigs for future kits for the rest of you potential buyers...Sure he could put mine in but there would be nothing for you guys...He would basically have to start from scratch again if he installed mine without making jigs first, and you know we don't want that...

I gotta give Todd the benefit of the doubt guys...He is doing the kit for basically free...Sure I have a couple grand into it but Todd has alot of his own money and alot of labor into it, more than I have invested into it to bring it into production...Crap comes up...It's frustrating but in the end it will be worth the wait...It will get done and it will be awesome im sure...

So for now we wait...But please hurry Todd...

^make good sense to me

I know you havent wanted to be rude and ask for pics right away, but at this point i think it might be ok to politely ask for a couple if it wouldnt be too much trouble (if you havent already). You seem to have been a very polite and patient customer up to this point, and i bet todd would not be offended if you asked, ESPECIALLY if there will be 2 weeks of downtime waiting on welders. I SAY ASK(nicely).

Thanks Bender, thats kinda what I was getting at.

Yelosub, I know you don't want pics, but at this point you may need them. I know we should give him the benefit of the doubt, BUT this definitely sounds WAY too familiar...

I'm meeting up with Todd Sunday afternoon to get my car back for the 2 weeks that it won't be worked on...I have other sponsors that need it to do their thing and I also need it to test the prototype cowl that you can follow along in this thread:

I did in fact get the car back from Todd last Monday...The gauges are installed and they look bad a$$...He installed them just above the two cup holders in the center console and they look very stealth...

Since picking it up, I meet with Clifford from MobileHID and picked up my sponsored H4 6K HID's with swithable HIGH/LOW beam...They are sweet...Randode helped with the install...

Monday im headed to Randode's to get interior lighting and engine bay lighting installed...

I got the prototype cowl scoop from Jim but I didn't work/fit properly so I will be meeting up with him personally to see what needs to be done...The piece and craftsmanship is top notch however even in the prototype form so I have to give Jim props...

The welders will be back the 30th of June so I drop my car back off to Todd before then so he can finish it...He knows it NEEDS TO BE DONE BY JULY 11th for the SI2 show here...

i'm gonna have to make a trip to Mesa myself, and it won't be to drop a car off.

fair question to ask:

from what i am understanding, there are people still waiting for kits from turbotoyotas... are these kits people are waiting for fully paid for? If i were to order a kit for my xD, should it become 'available', and i pay for it in full, could i be waiting like a year for it to arrive? is that what i am seeing?

From what I understand from Todd and I could be wrong but I think the reason its taken mine so long is this:

My kit is completely done, except wiring of the AEM fic, tuning, and dyno of course...When Todd finished building my kit from scratch, he had to install my turbo, make sure everything fit/lined up correctly, and then un-install it...My stuff was then sent back to the welders so that they could make the jigs for additional kits so that Todd could build the kits to have in stock for you folks to have one to buy...Problem was that the welder had an emergency and had to leave out of town and is not coming back until June 30th, hence the reason I got my car back to do the other things i needed to get done...

I hope that answers some questions...And if i'm wrong, hopefully Todd will chime in and correct me...

Even if you were wrong i doubt that todd would come here and tell you the real reason why your car wasn't done along with everyone whose still waiting even though they were told that their kits were done and would ship.

Anyways good luck to you bro and i hope it works out to the best.

as excited as i am for this kit to become available, id have to opt out if its going to take a year to get it even after paying for it in full. nothing would make me angrier than to have someone running around with thousands of my dollars and the only thing i get in return is lame excuses. ____es me off now just thinking about it.

There are 2 people still waiting from my "issues" that transpired last year.

Cwatz is one of them.

Otherwise no you will not be waiting that long for a kit if you order one. I wont take your order if it will not ship out within 3-5 weeks from date of order.

Now on the topic of xD kits:

Once Tim's is complete, I will have the ability to make other ones just like his.
Most probably won't like it, yes it looks sick, but its allot of work. And requires allot of work to install. It won't be for everyone. Its for the customer who has no problem "making things work" a true DIY'er. Definately not for the customer who wants it to bolt up nice an easy.

In the end at this particular moment my focus on the xD kit is too make sure Tim is happy with is setup. If others like it and want it well.....that will be just a bonus.

Regards-

Todd

When you say work, what exactly do you mean? Will each kit have to be custom tuned or will pre sets be sent along with the kit?

Battery relocation: up to end user on where and how to do it. I will not be offering a kit.

How the DP and manifold routes, you have to move/relocate wiring harness then wrap in gold foil heat shield.

Will each kit have to be custom tuned or will pre sets be sent along with the kit?
Every car needs to be professionally tuned. No matter what it is.....never buy a kit with a basemap. Its just a band aid. You wont ever get the full potential of your kit with a basemap. You can use a basemap to build off of though. Not always a good idea, but thats the only time a basemap is useful.

If you CANNOT AFFORD or do not have the resources to get your car professionally tuned....

DO NOT BUY A TURBO KIT!!!!!!!!!!

Todd
